At last I have found the offending forum thread so I thought I would post up here so just so everyone on either side (heretic or acolyte) definitely know where they stand with me.

Here is my statement on the matter;

I think the "he said she said" fluff has gone too far and this has resulted in one of my friends getting very upset and therefore I am very angry. My immediate emotional response is that I want to utterly crush anyone who had a part in upsetting my friend.

Anyone that has taken mine or my friends words and used them in this flame war that is still going on off-line should grow a brain, or cut back on the nerve they are displaying. Anything I have said is not a rafter anyone can put a roof on for a house of discontent, nor an indication of heresy.

I am a pragmatist who seeks to solve problems rather than banging on about them. Whilst its true I have given up on DLL, to their credit the ref did listen to what I said and it is their prerogative not to take it on board. Although people have left due to these matters not being resolved, there are still people joining and enjoying DLL and I say all the best to them. (This paragraph is my only public opinion on DLL)

Speaking personally here, I feel that if three people can happily live (in real life) in one house (rock on St Fabs) maintaining three different views of a particular LARP system then surely a bunch of people who don't know each other too well other than LARPing together a handful of times last summer can get over it.

So my initial angry state has mellowed to a resolve to just bite off the head of anyone who continues the behind the scenes BS that has caused such aggravation (and just so I am clear here, that includes everyone) To be honest I don't want to get drawn into a war of words with anyone, I don't do arguments, but I will to avenge and defend my real life friends feelings should I have any cause to.

To the Heretics: LARP is a game, if you don't like any particular game, make or play a different one. (Having said that though, no one should have got on Max's back like that, he has a right to alter his public opinion if it has changed, though I would have done it with more care)

To the Acolytes: LARP is a game. Its great you enjoy being part of something, but you don't get points with that systems "L33t Sheet" for posting attacks on ex-players on forums (well at least you shouldn't if maturity is something the ref cares for)

I consider this the end of this "drama" with all pieces lying where they fell. There are still apologies to be made, but I will not be wielding my proverbial axe to get them out of people as all those with good sense know that apologies should be made with sincerity or not at all.

At the end of the day I like the people who are posting on both sides of this spat and it pains me to see likeable and decent people sniping at each other over something that is in neither camps sphere of influence to do anything about.

I only really like beans with Hot Sauce and Cheese

Fortunately, as stated this got resolved.

Buffy rather respectfully resolved a lot of issues very maturely.

"There are still apologies to be made, but I will not be wielding my proverbial axe to get them out of people as all those with good sense know that apologies should be made with sincerity or not at all."

I concur full heartedly Arthock.

Resolved is not how I see it. Its more a recent fanning of flames of a fire that should never have been started in the first place.

My advice to all concerned is check with the person with whom you are apparently in conflict with before letting your friends say another word on any matter of contention.

And to those with the habit of chatting BS about people, DON'T, just bloody DON'T.

Aaaarrrggghhh! not again!!! Please just stop... He said she said, come on we are all adults arn't we...

I dont know the in's and outs of all this but looks to me like a situation which is never gonna get resolved. Someone at the end of the day is gonna remain unhappy about the way this has panned out.

Is there any other way of resolving this apart from pages and pages of what-not-what-said on the forum...

I suggest a duel... Seriously is there a better way of resolution.

If you really wanna make this public which it seems to be going way not put both cases forward and let the jury decide i.e. everyone else who is looking at the ranting We could have a poll

or you could just end this with your "thoughts for the day".... Hmm too mush daytime tv for me I thinks'

Max, glad you like the character. Am planning on coming down this month but won't have my DLL character completed by then. Am working on a bugbear (think thats what you call it) done the suit but need to create the head. Got loads of foam and mod-roc for this

Er, got the email about the shield by the way. Wife is getting this for birthday so will discuss with her and get back... really liked the look of the goblin shield too boo shame...

Well said Varg, but I came to this BSstorm more than a little late when feelings had already been hurt because people can't be honest with one another and that ticked me off.

I have already said more than enough on this, definitely far more than I desired too, but I can't resist the thoughts for the day idea.

Some people like beans, some don't, its not a clan matter
