Name: The Eternal Kingdom of Spring - Bahador
Culture: Persian
numbers: so far We have about 4 players confirmed.

(Ic bit from other founding member)

We are the Queen Bahareh, Shah of the Eternal Kingdom of Spring, Bahador, in Glorious Babylonia. Daughter of the Shah-an-Shah, the Risen King of Kings; Darius the Eternal and the Lady Shahnaz.

Our personal court follow The Lady of Heaven, Our Bountiful Ishtar. May Her bounty flow in the Everlasting Land of Spring. Any whom devote themselves to the Glorious Yazata are welcome in Our court.

We come to show the barbarians the beauty of Persia, the bounty of the Eternal Kingdom of Spring, and how a true Monarch lives and reigns.

We come to show them how one lives fully in the light, and we strive to bring light to those who have none.

All Glory to Darius the Eternal and the Lady Ishtar.

((OOC From our own readings we've found that in real life there was a belief that you must live a full life in order to truly worship the good gods. We're going to be decadent, we're going to have fun, and we're going to be showing all these savages what it is to truly live. We're playing the Good Religion game here, although if you fancy playing secret evil thing feel free, just don't let us know. Corrupt us subtley. We'd love to have you darrrrrrrrrrling))

Group Name: Priests of Delphi.

Culture: Greek

Notes: A group of Greek priests with a following of the Oracle of Delphi. Generally priests, soothsayers and oracles with great roleplaying opportunity in the Greek camps for seeking the future and guidance. Lots of rituals, meditation etc. Based heavily in Apollo and the Oracle at Delphi.

PM if interested.

Group Name: Chosen of Athens

Culture: Greek

Open to: Anyone portraying a man, or woman, of Athens.

Notes: A group of Athenan citizens held together by a private philosophical code, many members recieved (or believed they recieved) a vision from Athena that guided the like-minded to Delphi to witness a prophecy that they believe came from Athena herself - one that has guided them on their journey's in a part to serve the intrests of their godess, but also to advance the intrests of Athen's itsself. The group is focused on several philosophical guidelines as follows:

1. Act for the good of Athens above all else, even at the cost of personal standing.

2. Look down on/disrespect no citizen of Athens, no matter their wealth or lack it – for even the poorest man is the backbone of the Navy and part of the spear of Athens.

3. Never trust a follower of Ares, for those who make war have no concepts of loyalty when it comes to furthering bloodshed and all warmongers lack a concept of civilisation and intelligence – look only to the Spartans who make war upon slaves and call themselves warriors to see the truth in this.

4. Remember always that Ares is not the God of War, but the God of Bloodshed – an Athenian Strategos treads in domain of Athena and she has taught us to avoid bloodshed where necessary - do not celebrate victories won for a blood price, for those are the victories that Athena looks down upon with sadness, the best war is a war won without a single soul sent beyond the Styx.

5. Do not fight a hopeless battle if there is nothing to be gained from your death, and do not value intelligence and cunning beneath bravery - a cunning man can win a war, when a brave man's sacrifice would mean nothing

6. Never trust the Spartans' of all our Greek brothers, they are the closest to barbarians, and they are all of Ares' flock - a Spartan will kill you just as soon as he would kill your enemies if he felt it was in his interests - they have fallen a long way since Leonidas sacrificed himself at Thermopylae, look only to their pacts with Persians against Athens to see this.

7. Heed the council and thoughts of Women, and offer not to them disrespect – for our Goddess Athena is a woman too and she rises Athenan women above all others.

8. Any Athenian will doubtless experience emotions and passion, but this does not govern them - an intelligent man is one who thinks rationally at all times

9. Do not devote yourself solely to war. Practice it, and become skilled at it as a craft, but ensure you practice other disciplines, too. A man solely skilled in war is a man who cannot survive during peace and is a man who falls easily under Ares’ sway

I like to piss off one God a month...and frankly its not like he's not permenantly pissed off, what with wanting to exterminate all human life. Plus its perfectly legitimate, one can't get on with Athena and get on with Aries, they are arch-enemies.

Group Name: The Household of Ramekhet IV, of the line of Nectanebo, Son of Ra and loyal Prince of Horus

Culture: Egyptian

Numbers: Around 10 at the moment, including both nobles and servants (we have dancing girls!). We're particularly keen to recruit more fighters.

Concept: An Egyptian noble household, led by the ultra-honourable, ultra-aristocratic scion of the pre-Ptolemite nobility. In the absence of Nectanebo's son, Ramekhet has risen to prominence as a focal point for those unhappy with the Pharaoh's rule. The Prince however,  has sworn an oath to support Horus for the good of the kingdom and in the shadows of his court, debate rages as to the moral and honourable course of action - whether the young noble should oppose the Pharaoh openly or defend him against outsiders.

Possible characters: Palace guards, scribes, scholarly/mystic advisors, hedonistic hangers-on, aristocratic hotheads (hoping to create a tension between older, wiser retainers and impulsive aristocrats).

Inspirations: Ramses II, Battletech's Clan Jade Falcon. I'm also personally interested in the conception of Set as a storm god, rather than the black-hat villain of Egyptian mythology (ideas in that area warmly received).

Facebook group soon (link to be provided). More info available by email from me (Rich) using sailorshovelATyahoo.co.uk

-- -- --

Eos: Manius Shard. Green and gold shiny healy thing.

Shadow Wars: Johnny Hyper, Hack the Planet!

Odyssey: Was Prince Ramekhet IV, of the line of Nectanebo etc etc; now Quintus Antoninus, sentimental fool err... philosopher of Rome.
