I prefer calls for all hits myself. It creates a noise effect that I think phys reps the clash of combat. If you are in a tens and hear "Sharpbluntbluntsharpcrush" that to me represent the sudden sound of  weapon play.

That is until we start taking kids toy swords apart for the impact sensitive chips inside that make weapon noises. And they sound a bit less cheesy.

*waves* I was well and truly stabbed in the face at the play-test and it was without doubt the most pleasant and non-painful head-hit it has ever been my priviledge to experience from a larp weapon.

I blame you Mark, I sit up most night till 5am re-watching episodes of Supernatural!

but yeah I agree with Stu that I tend to treat damage calls as the clash of weapons that is vacant due to larp safe weapons.

Well at least I'm being consistent. I brought up Klingon before last event that got Martin frothing. This time it's lightsabres getting Godfrey and Alan3 going. This means I need to come up with something for next event otherwise I'm doooooomed.

I am too in the Stu Maher camp that whenever I've heard damage calls I've always assumed that they're the sounds of battle. Whether or not I've responded to them has changed over the years. I used to be eager. Now I leave eager to the young 'uns and take a more relaxed 'I'll finish what's left' attitude.
