| I'm thinking of coming along to play Serenity sometime soon and I have a couple of questions whilst I'm trying to build my character:- 1) other than the doing research yourself issue what is the difference between Lore:<X> and Knowledge:<X>? 2) is it possible to purchase a flaw and use the additional point(s) to purchase a second merit? 3) if previously agreed with plot is it possible to be accompanied by an indentured servant (as defined by the Investments Portfolio book) 4) assuming I have access to the funds is it possible to start my first game with a ship? How do I make the plot team/event organisers aware of this? Cheers all!! Jase

1) Lore is uncommon or unverifiable information, whilst Knowledge represents a more conventional education. Typical types for each skill would be Knowledge[Geology], Knowledge[Law] or Knowledge[Etiquette], and Lore[Reavers], Lore[Dust Devils] or Lore[Nishka].
2) No. You get exactly one merit, no more, no less. Flaws can only be used to buy additional skills.
3) Yes, but as you say it needs to be discussed with the plot team. The servant would need to be "phys-repped" by another player character and paid for by the owner.
4) Yes, many crews do start with a ship in-hand. It's best to drop an email to refs@serenity-lrp.co.uk to inform us, but there is also space in the character creation form for additional notes, such as any ships you may own and how you're paying for them.

Also note that we've extended the booking deadline for the next event, but only till this Sunday (the 17th) so if you want to play you'll have to be quick!
