Im gonna try and make the next game and was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on the deal with the artifice skill. i know i need to play a dwarf but other than that im not sure how it all works. is it usable in time or just downtime? what sort of items is it possible to make and how is it done, so on so forth. any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah...we already have our own dawrf artificer (that is what he has right?)... I'm sure he'll spot this post eventually.

Just don't expect to be able to do much with the skill for a rather long time.

If you're interested in Artifice, send Joe a PM and he'll fill you in. Best to keep details off the board

I am NOT going to throw LARP safe hamsters at zombies... or frogs!

Maelstrom: Sergeant Nice Guy, Cuddliest member of the Freeloaders.
Insurrection: Krull, Lieutenant of Duke Ladrill's second company... for now
Crusades: Jonah, Inquisitor General with a taste for burning people
Masquerades and Massacres: Tristan Roth, Navy Commander. Turns out he wasn't out of his depth, just never tried standing up.
Kingdoms: Crew, respawn is the key to short term immortality

You can use it in uptime and in downtime. It's better in downtime, though (because you have a little more time to plan and to detect any problems). It's a structure that allows you to pitch an item, we'll then talk about what's required and you go from there.

As Joe H says, if you give me your email address I'll send you the Artifice rulesheet thingy.

Bladelands: Raoul Twice-Dead - hunter, killer, witch and trouble-maker
EOS: staff (probably the best job in LRP!)
Maelstrom: Carlito Rossini of the Sol Igneus Company (est. 1659, incorporated in Terino)
Odyssey: some Persian Immortal, details TBC

Of course, the _real_ dwarven racial skill is Pharmacy...

+++++

Odyssey team. Someone kind once said I was designing the game experience. Flattery will get him far.

As with all PD matters, such positions are best sought direct from PD through the usual official channels. Accept no substitutes!

Artifice: lovely in theory. Painful in practice ("you're through the portal, both your arms are now on 0 hits and septic!").

My advice: think of an artificer concept and be prepared to spend a lot of time (aka many events and down times) working at it. Magic items are pretty rare in the isnurrection world, and there is a good reason for it!

Bravery will take you into the most dangerous of places
Overwhelming firepower will see you safely through them

PD: Was: Borris, Tea Clubs human shield. Now: Kibidachi Yoshikazu, humourless, not bestest badger.
EOS: Malak, hungry orc number 5.
Insurrection: Tondur Anazon. The application of unwise science to the practice of warfare.
Zeitgiest: Maximillian Bergmann Schmidt. Delicious heresy (extra crispy).
