Having crewed for when the huntlord rides, I came along to this day event for my second LARP experience ever 
I have to say I had fantastic fun; there was some fantastic plot, which I don't think we even got halfway into! The plot all affects the game world too, so local events will have an impact on the wider world when it comes to the weekenders 
There was initially a moot to discuss Bargate's former Thane, who it appears has gone a little bit insane; two differing viewpoints, hotly contested, with a duel. Needless to say, Arka (the roman analogues) didn't really care who won - just that they were able to come to some arrangement with the winner....
The rest of the day was spent clearing the area of bandits, dealing with some traders who were rather tricksy, and resolving some interesting dissillusioned old veteran Arkans and Fenn mercenaries, whose motives were complex, and actions somewhat horrible.
We also investigated a grave-robbing, eventually being ambushed by psychotic elemental beings (mourne) who had raised the man buried as an undead minion...
All in all a really fun day, packed with adventure.
Highlights for me included:
Hearing the tale of Bentic told by those who were there
Helping Negotiate the Arkan/Fenn treaty, quelling any rebellion in the area
Showing the heathen scum just what a mighty legion shield wall can do...
Ambushing an attacking bandit archer, forcing him to flee right into our shield wall...
Getting some rituals done to lay people to rest, once and for all

| I attended this event as an Arkan player and have to say I had a great time, from the offset politics were hovering around and causing eveyone to be at least somewhat cautious with their words, The combat during the event came thick and fast when it came and at one point nearly had all the players killed in a particularly vicious ambush, this event in particular also had 7 new players that all played like old hands. So all in all I was very impressed. Can't wait til the next event. Highlights for me *The Arkan shieldwall showing everyone else how it's done, *The ambush at lunch being repelled brilliantly despite half of us having our faces full of bread. *The incident involving a lot of clay mud and about a 10 metre slide through said mud, it was messy.
