The Melting Pot

Hi all,

We are starting a 'Games' club down at the wilderness and will be running it every friday for those of you who are interested. The definition of 'games club' as opposed to 'wargames club' is an important one as we will not be focusing specifically on wargames. It is our hope that we will be able to play any game people are interested in bringing along.

Games will be arranged between players one week in advance and details could be placed on this thread if your interested. The club is not exclusive to Refuge members and players of any age are welcome but it will be the responisbility of the parent for anyone under 15 to take care of them.

We already have a large number of different games such as Munchkin, Chez Geek, Mordheim, Space Hulk, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Necromunda, Gork-morka, Banana, Risk (various types), RPG's (various).

In addition to this we are looking at running LAN parties and console (ps2, x360, xbox, DS and wi) link ups as well as B-movie competitions and anything else people suggest.

There is limited crash space for those of you who have to travel. There is a £1 charge most of which will go towards buying new equipment for the club. A group of friends and I have already offered to lend people models for certain wargames etc and we will set up a painting and modeling station at the club ready for members to use.

We will be running a rotation system to ensure that the type of games that can be played changes each week, this has been done to ensure that those not interested in a particular type of game still get to join in and so different games can get introduced. The Club itself will take place at the site in the main accmodation area.

Regards

Thanks to Kayleigh, Jordan, Lyon, Dan, Jane, Viv Tong and Laura for the help with the Space Hulk Scenery.

We've managed to make approximatly 40 3D sections for space hulk and they are looking mighty spiffy. We will be undertaking various scenery projects for the club which will be run at the same time as the club.

Mordheim

Laura and Jordan have asked about playing mordheim so I will run a few games next friday. We will be using the Empire in Flames rules to reflect the more rural landscape. We will be using any of the warbands listed are the Mordheimers website:

http://www.mordheimer.com/warbands/warbands.htm

If your after one of the more outrageous then please let me know. All the mordheim rules are available from the specialist games section of GW's site if you want to have a warband ready.

I have warbands for the following:

Human Mercinaries,

Skaven,

Orcs and Goblins,

Bretonians,

Undead,

Cult of the Possessed,

Beastmen,

Wood Elves,

Lizardmen,

Shadow Warriors,

Let me know if you want to use a warband and I will stop others using them.

Regards

Gah, I don't think we can make Fridays -- Kyle's off to his fencing club every Friday evening, which means I can't get along to Wilderness Farm either (Bridie takes him to fencing in the car).

Would love to get some modelling & painting tips from you sometime, though, Andy -- I have a lot of Dark Angels space marines to paint, and Kyle & Bridie have a lot of Orks...

This sounds good, but with work will only be able to make it occasionally. Most likely once a month

I can donate Blood Bowl with Death Zone and a couple of books as I don't use it any more.

I also have a variety of Lord of the Ring based games (5 including LOTR Risk), not obsessed, but a big fan of the books. They are good games as I'm picky.

I gather Mordheim is the Warhammer Fantasy version of Necromunda, so when I'm able to come, I bagsee the Wood Elves

General enquiry - Is this going to start after the next event or this friday?

Thanks, Andy -- I would almost certainly be up for that.

Good to see you & Jane over the weekend, BTW, if only briefly.

Count me in. I have my own copy of blood bowl that i can bring down and a team or two lying around somewhere, i just need to relearn the bloody rules

Morhiem sounds good too, i can dust off my old warband, though i always fancied doing a skaven warband so this might just be the excuse i needed.
