A couple of questions - cross posted from your other forum as it looks like this one's more active.
First off, rifles. Is it an acceptable fudge to use an assault rifle-looking prop as a non-automatic rifle. My obvious flange-blag would be claiming its the 'civilian version' and has no autofire setting.
Secondly, submachine guns (eg UZI's, MP5's). Do they exist in-game? And if so, what do they count as?

SvenHi Shven Sorry, should have posted a reply to this earlier on the website. I did mean to but given that i didnt get to have my prolonged chat with Jon at the weekend meant that certain of the information needs to be codified. Let me preface this by saying that the current game rules are undergoing examinationmand revision and as such anything i state now can likely change in the long term based upon what is done with the ruleset. Having said that the game is run on a "what you see is what you get" basis and as such, while thematicaly it makes sense the lack of lamies in game means that other players picking up the "rifle" will have no way of knowning itis not an assualt rifle. With this in mind i would say that I would prefer to see a rifle being a bolt action/winchester style rifle for this reason. Saying that, please do not consider this an official ruling, as official rulings would need to come from the email address on the website.

As an aside to this, what with the VCRB and all, if you're dead keen and have a couple of hundred pounds spare I believe there's a type of replica called a PFC Cap Gun.
I've drooled over these on and off for a while. They're used in movies and such since they have gas blowback actions and even a puff of sparks and smoke.
But, they're not Blank Firers, they class as cap guns and they cost a couple of hundred quid each.
This one's just for the crazies.

| Some quick 'off the record' guidelines... First off I'll tackle the SMG/Uzi thing. We have a certain amount of abstraction in the game, dependant on the look of the phys-rep I'd treat small UZI type things as pistols via the rules mechanics on the understanding they are wildly inaccurate. This means they are used one handed. A big Mp5 thing is probably fine as an assualt rifle if it's big and looks like it needs two hands. These SMG thingies are purely a style choice at the moment. Secondly assault rifles as single shot. Take out the clip, tape up the hole left, wrap some scrim round it. That'll probably look fine as a borderworld bolt action. As Celticknots points out, the golden rule: If it looks right it is right.
