| Hi there, Im a regular HQ player who started LRPing as a kid back at Peckforton. HQ is a little pricey but delivers every time- quality kit, quality events, quality refs and crew and a quality system IC and downtime. The game can be played cheaply but if you want quality its worth paying for. I would take advantage of the £20 dunj except im not a new player- though i still played one of the basics HQ run this year and really enjoyed it- took me back to prospero an the room full of orcs at TT. On the Humacti thing- it does come from Runequest originally then through TT and Labby to HQ. It has now evolved beyond simple beserkers- Humacti hatred for undead comes from respect for life- this is a fuller and more complex rolpeplay position than simple fanatacism May Humacts light illuminate the path, Cirith Lightbringer

Man, this seems to be a rip-off larp.
In Belgium we ask people to pay a maximum of €100 euro and this is for an event that runs from friday evening till sunday afternoon.
It includes: 6 HOT meals, BEDS and 11 free drinks.
We provide our NPC's (monsters) with costumes, weapons, masks and everything they need for their role. Yes our NPC's (monsters) need to pay, but they only pay a maximum of €55 (they also get the 6 meals, beds and 11 free drinks). Members get a €10 discount (membership is €20/year)
What is included in their participation fee? Also meals, drinks, beds, ... ?

crew is also free in Belgium. But crew is NOT NPC or monstering. Crew = WORKING.
But anyway, does the fee of Heroquest also include meals, bed, drinks, ... ?

| When did HQ begin? Personally I started larping with a local uni club that was largely based on the HQ system (through made more complex) and set in the Greyhawk world. Yes, HQ is very expensive and not my thing, but I have heard good things about it from people who use to play it. The impression I get is it's very good at what it says it does. It's one of the few view professional larp groups in the world.

Wow, no food and no beds for that price?
Can someone then give me an example of the quality they give?
I mean I looked at the pictures and I don't see anything special.
It's just that I'm participating in numerous larps in Europe to improve my understanding of the different ways games are run. All this with the goal to improve the larp I myself run here in Belgium.
If people are willing to pay an immense amount for a larp that runs very frequently I'd like to know what makes it so special that people are willing such an amount of money.
