I did my duty today and handed all my knives in to the local police station.

But now my wife is moaning about having to use a piece of wood to cut her food up with, even though I made it sharp for her. I told her she is much safer now and she smiled at me then hit me with the piece of wood.

I am going to write to the Home Secretary to get a wood amnesty, after my arm is better.

You're right I have seen the error of my ways, your witty and penetrating parody of the "anti knife" stance has convinced me of the rightness of your argument.  I'm glad that's all over.  I thought it might become tedious...

As we all know, though, far more kitchen knives are used in stabbings than are Batleths or Samurai Swords. I guess the only option is to do what some senior doctors recommend, and ensure that kitchen knives all have rounded points.

I'm sorry, what makes you think I think a knife amnesty is a good idea?    I've already posted that I don't.

Sod an amnesty, can we simply arm all criminals with batleths? Make them a)easier to spot and b)easier to ridicule.

Or maybe I'm just not on street ghetto culture anymore:

Word to ya mother, kick it!
I got my batleth skills, my phaser set to kill
Gonna bust some rhymes before star trek time.

marvellous

*snorts with laughter*

If scallies start to rap about star trek I may well have to hand over my geek card and become a fan of something like Hollyoaks instead. Then again it would make getting mugged more interesting.

"no no, look, you should hold it like this. You're carrying it like a girl would! gah, Hab sosIT' Quch!"

For some bizarre reason I am now being troubled by mental images of ST:TNG with Dr.Dre as Worf, and Eminem as Wesley.

I think i need a break...

Maybe we need a wife amnesty...

What, hand the dangerous ones into the police so they can seal them in bins and dispose of them?
