So, just to check, I could find a ref and say "I'm going to walk all round the site repeatedly, without stopping, for half an hour" or "My group's going to host a religious debate for the next twenty minutes" or suchlike, and the ref would ask which god I was trying to appease and tell me whether I'd expect it to work?

A "phone-a-ref" line, as there is at Maelstrom, would probably really help with this. I know I was once locked into a fort with a pressing urge to pray, and unable to get the attention of any refs.

As Jo says there was a ref phone, has been since event 1. the number was in the event pack and on the white board in Games Control.

Not to be a pain, but it states in the rules (from memory) A Night of Sleep recovers "four" will points.  Is that still true?

Yes it is, and that's exactly what my post says, I've not editted it at all *whistes innocently*

Well spotted that man

Hi,

I don't want to stir up a hornets nest but the section on what the gods need in prayer is missing. I've seen references to it and I know how to pray to the traveller through the experiences of my old character.

However I just cannot find sections on how to pray to the Guide, Destroyer, Lady, land etc. I respect the idea of a closed system but my new character is yet to choose a faith and I have no way to regain willpower until I do. I think this specific knowledge should be more easily available as it helps define the character at creation and may influence a PCs choices. Not only this but the Arimin pray to many gods.

Please could you link the section on praying and regaining willpower here or private message me it?

Thanks

From what I gathered a prayer is whatever you want it to be, and what is suitable. So for example Wretch-of-Brood would probably do some sort of blood-sacrifice during a hunt to appease Destructor, drink some blood, kill more animals than he needs to, then set light to the surrounding countryside

A druid or woodsman might sit motionless in nature, making their ken one with the surrounding energy as a form of prayer to the Traveller, the new experience of where the have settled being the offering, the experience of meditation pulling them closer to their destination.

I might be wrong. Festivities count as a mass-prayer as well. This is only my own understanding of it though.
