We've been running QUEST, a Treasure Trap-style fantasy LARP system at Anston (between Sheffield, Rotherham & Worksop) since the early 1990's.

We're a fairly small and increasingly decrepit group (around a dozen of us, aged 30+) that holds two weekend-long events each year where you'll spend around 8 - 10 hours adventuring in-character, a similar amount of time monstering and the rest of the weekend OOC, having a few beers, chewing the fat and playing boardgames.

We use a rented Scout Hut as the base for our events and adventure in the extensive woodland adjacent to the site.

At the time of writing our next event is less than a fortnight away (Oct 10th - 12th) and, thanks to a couple of last-minute withdrawals, we have a couple of slots available in a series of low-level starter adventures for anyone who wants to join us.

We had our annual social event last weekend (many thanks to those who made it such great fun!) so I thought I'd post a few photos of the Grand Tourney combats & banquet.

(For those of you wondering about the houses in the background, we rent a Scout hut in its own secure compound between some houses and a large playing field. On the far side of the field is an extensive woodland area with cliffs, a river and a cave or two)

Our first 2009 adventure weekend is just over a week away (May 8th to 10th) and we could still make room for some new blood if anyone is interested in joining us for some Treasure-Trap style linears & monstering mayhem.  (Send me a PM & I'll drop you a line).

I think some of the faces will definitely be familiar as most of us have been around a LONG time (& Mr Wright's face and his Northern Fight School swordmastery expertise seem to make him particularly memorable!)

Not sure the location will be familiar to ex-DUTTers or EHers, though, as it's in South Yorkshire. Mind you, you're (spookily) right about one aspect of the site - there ARE a number of short tunnels near where the action shots were taken!
