Not sure if this belongs here, but i recalled on pagga there being discussions about web based games, so maybe it does.
I currently in the very early stages of developing a browser based game called Whispering coast.

The site is very small at the moment - 2 pages of stuff i put together in the hope of gaining a little interest and some opinions of the concepts, suggestions etc.
Its only a couple of weeks into conception though so it doesnt have a forum (yet)
Ive had offers of help with the project, but for the time being its a solo project because its one of those "things i really want to have done myself". Later on that may open up (i do have one mate helping with documentation and a wiki).
Just as a quick note - it isnt a create a character go smack things game, its intended to be a community/social/building game set in a low fantasy environment.
Its on the low priority list at the moment because ive got too much other stuff to do in little time, but in a month or so i hope to take it up a bit more actively (currently playing with images and interfaces and stuff)
