| The system states that Rank is also used as a mechanic for who can use what weapon. So what if.. My elf has no rank and is standing in the middle of a battle holding his little dagger and trying hard not to get hit. Then he notices his friend Jimbo has been taken down, Jimbo has a sword and shield. I know Jimbos player very well OOC and know for a fact he would not mind me using his Fiz Reps. Can my elf pick up his stuff and use it? Can weapons be given as gifts to those who do not have the rank to normaly use it? If the powers-that-be now wish to tell me to shut up and stop system breaking i fully understand.

| As it says very clearly, the weapons, armour and rank table is there to show an IC social law. As far as the system (ooc) says anyone can use any weapon or wear any armour. It is there to show what people of different ranks can use legally without guards and people getting upset. Its also a way to show rank. If you see an orc in plate with a two handed axe walking towards you its either a bad ass outlaw or a VERY high ranking person. To say it again. You can use any weapon and wear any armour. It is an in game, rank based restriction. If your in the middle of a pitched battle and grab someone elses weapon you dont have the rank to use its an IC action and will be delt with IC. There are exceptions to the rule IC, permits that can be bought or 'found'. The trick is showing them to the guards before they kick your ass. As for grabbing other peoples kit it is more about personal limits than anything else but if you are carrying them people taking them is allowed in the rules. You will then be expected to hand in the phys rep to the ref/GOD just so the player knows its safe and can use it again for a different weapon if they need it. Does that explain it? Oli

| The way Im expecting it to go is people have big weapons and heavy armour but keep it hidden until the 'big attack' when they are breaking the law any way. Using weapons without a permit suddenly drops way down the list of concerns.

I think this has been raised elsewhere but I lost it and its possible answer so ill ask it on here Human Servants and Weapons and armor. Can they use sociably the same as their owner or one rank lower or something else?

Jester: I don't know about you but I plan to stick around long enough to not only see the plans of Commonwealth assault come to fruition but to be on the front lines when they do.
DeadDragon: You can get special documents giving permission for human 'bodyguards' to use armour and weapons. The two ways I know to acquire them are the legitimate ones or through forgeries.

So I may be small but trust me, I look big enough in my armour and what I lack in size I more than make up for in midget-berzerker-sword-waving-one-legged-foaming-mouth action! Just ask this small pile of mutilated bodyparts that used to be people looking at me funny.

| Correct. Someone who owns slaves can try to get permission to have them trained in combat and allowed to carry weapons. This is not cheap and they are expected to always be with their owner (whos the one holding the permits). Humans allowed to wander about armed and armoured with out an obvious owner will most likely be killed on sight. Oli

At Event One, your human PC slaves may have received a "weekend permit" to use weapons equal to your own Rank, if your background allows it (i.e. you have a good cover story about what you're doing that weekend, and why you might need armed guards). This doesn't mean that they'll have blanket permission, however.
