Grats Joe you have created a system that has caused a great deal of debate among my friends I was wondering if you could clarify some things that are sticking points that some clarification would be handy. All humans that wish to survive in the commonwealth have to be "owned" by someone? Dawning Light are humans that are proud of their faith magic and will not be owned by anyone? Soo I would Assume (bad mistake) that if your dawning light you have to hide in the woods when/if the commonwealth come looking round camp or the more obvious answer "pretend" to be someones slave.

| You need to be pointing that blamethrower at Oli, too, but thank'ee nevertheless *grin* Humans are, indeed, property. There's a reason that slaves who escape flee to the inhospitable Frozen North -- it's because, without an owner, there's no protection for you from other High Race types. In the Commonwealth, this is strongly formalised; humans without an owner, whether individual or corporate (like the Wayfarers), become property of the Commonwealth and will be claimed sharpish. You're spot on about the Dawning Light. If you want to survive an inspection by Commonwealth types, you either need to swallow your pride and pretend to be a slave (potentially risky, depending on your icon), run the hell away and hide, or stab them in the face and not stop until everyone else has decided you're too much trouble to complain about...

| Excellent thankyou. Leading on I have the following 2 (only 2? am I bluffing, do I have more..?) Questions. 1/ Are all humans penalised with starting cash regardless of whether they are a member of a faction (even by defacto being owned by a faction member). Or simply put if I am an Dwarf member of the radicals, does my human slave (PC) have starting cash? Or better example as Dwarfs get a little extra anyway, I am an Elven Member of the Velvet Glove, does my human property (PC) get the starting cash same as me? 2/ I assume that Common wealth are suitably powerful that an inspection from that would warrant concern/terror to an unowned human _and_ that we are most likely going to be subject to that in game. There is some speculation that there is no impact in game due to the teaser on the flyer, i.e. we are part of the 5 factions that are meeting to discuss what to do about the "power". I would assume (doing a lot of that hehe) that there is an element of secrecy, subterfuge and intrigue to the events (hence why I signed up ) rather than once "time in" we can all be open about our issues with the Common wealth until an "encounter/scenario" arrives/happens.

I can do this all day 1. Humans in the Dawning Light and the Wayfarers' Guild start with 50F for being part of a faction. Human PCs who are slaves of characters in the other three factions (and who aren't themselves sleeper agents for the Dawning Light, waiting to blow their cover in a spray of High Race gore*) don't start with the 50F, but can still get money with XP. 2. Ultimately, it depends who's inspecting you; you might be able to buy them off if they're suitably corrupt. As per this thread, there will be a Commonwealth garrison very near to where you're based (there's only one building on site, and the garrison is in it). In fact, crew will be playing members of this garrison for pretty much all of time in**. A degree of caginess, especially where Faith is concerned, is definitely advised. Useful? *: well, that's what the Commonwealth says they do, anyway... **: but not all of them all the time, unless you guys do something really unexpected.

| You say that now, soon it will be leave me alone stop bugging me... In response to point 1. Its a little on the bad news side for me personally as I have lost potentially all 4 of the 5 human players I was co-ercing, to the Wayfarers and Dawning Light. Perhaps the "money isnt everything" route might work. Lol check me out potentially 4 human slaves, I sounds likes a pimp in my pimp-mobile.

Or to put it another way: Bluffing, bribing, failing, running and hiding, being found, calling on the gods, violence against superior forces.
Go on, play a human. It'll be a laugh, and there's a very real chance you'll survive to the next game if you can run fast enough. Apparently we're not supposed to mention the violence inherent in the system, though.

| As Rob Watts once said to me "you used to be well cool" Obviously not anymore, thankyou very much Rob... Given how much some of them need cash, its going to be a hard one to argue...but ill try to convince them. *whispers in a very quiet voice* or you could allow all humans that are a member of a faction that isnt over subscribed to have normal starting florins , worth a try *hides*
