We have several game idea's in the wings at the moment. I dont really mind which one we do so here is how we will decide:

Write down three game idea's, putting 1-3 by each one. The idea with the most points is our primary system and we will look into running the other later or when we are established.

Is that ok with everyone?

1. Black Death

This is wicked idea. Of course I might be seeing a bit more 'Dark Age Cthulhu' then everyone else, and I still think some more discussion is needed on a few things (like magic and player defined background) but no more than any of the other settings we have. I think this is the best idea we've come up with, its got the potential for high levels of combat, and politics and mystery. Plots and characters will almost write themselves, especially once the PCs start to explore and find out what weird shenanigans are going down!

2. Age of Conan

This is a great setting, one game has already got this covered and they're using minimal rules, but having looked at the pics their production values are very low. Though I love the setting I dont know how well our 'princples instead of rules' would work. Ultimately its a game in which heroes mash up all the low level badguys, its not supposed to be a level playing field.

3. Stone Age

I like this but I'm afraid of seeing chubby out of shape Larpers running around in loinclothes and little else. Also, because the general view of this period is that everything is basic (including culturally) I think most of the plots will be about finding food and avoiding sabre-tooth tigers, not super interesting really. Also, stone age looking LARP weapons are pretty rare.

The only reason Flintlock isn't on there is that the production and kit costs to do it right will be much higher than all the other ideas. If you're gonna do flintlock all the props need to look shit-hot, which is often time consuming and/or expensive. Also I'm sick to death of frockcoats and ponces, its the same old same old.
