How about as a bit of a departure from The Bond Cliche of the 60/70's

Flint (as in 'Our man Flint' and 'In like Flint')

All of the cool gadgets, he's self financed and can stop his heart for up to an hour. That's got to be useful in some situations.

Can I just have all of the characters from Defenders of the Earth?

On the spy front, can I recommend throwing in Maxwel Smart? He always came out ahead and who wouldn't want that "Cone of Silence"?

No. Kshin and Zuffie are banned.

But good call there: Flash Gordon (and son), Lothar (and son), the Phantom (and daughter) and Mandrake make for a very League-like stucture.

Dave 2 / Man in Blue

LT - Artfiel Macenion Duvall, Knight of Celestial
EOS - Weeping Boar, War Sayer of the Mystwalker Tribe
Maelstrom - Tal Rufen, Quicksilver Trading
Riftworld - Cpl Caplin San Angelo, 48th Assault Recon

Bugger, you're right, I forgot about Kshin and that annoying little alien bastard.  They are clearly not allowed.

Sherlock Holmes in the 60's?

He wasn't in the original because it was set after his supposed death.

<snip>I suppose in a modern day version, Mulder and/or Scully could be involved somewhere.

It makes more sense if you assume Holmes has been reading the Necronomicon.

Pfft. Away with your Mulder, you'd be better off with Father Ted!  For modern day heroes, MacGuyver clearly has a certain edge, he may not have much personality (and indeed is never seen in the same room as the Stargate fella) but by jove he's a useful chap.

There is only overconfidence and terror.

John Rambo, Inspector Gadget, the South American girl from Predator, a grown-up (and now alcoholic) Presto from Dungeons and Dragons and Nancy from Nightmare on Elm Street.

I also really want a Napoleonic-era league with Richard Sharpe, but my ignorance prevents me from thinking of any other characters who would work in that era.
