| Then it'd devolve into groups with no kit,'cos it all belongs to merlinroute PLC (which is Andy King) and the only reason it'd fold is 'cos he's had enough. Any successor would probably be "picked" to run it for him or have bought the business.

I get the feeling there are several factions who have accumulated and accreted gear over time. Set dressing, tents etc. That won't cover all that would be removed - but it'd be enough to spin off a smaller system, I'd guessed.
----- Insurrection:"Of course, if I used some extra resources I could raise my chances of success to very poor...." Riftworld: "This? This is not a problem, its a challenge. Now can someone help me open this jar?" LT: [Not allowed a speaking (or writing) part.]

| I suspect the hobby would go on.... and those LT players left out in the cold, would get on with forming smaller clubs. I think that sort of thing would force people to get out there and do a bit of organising and most factions could host a single clubs in their own right. Those that love the hobby enough, I guess would be the organisers of tomorrow

Matt Pennington (6/2/2008) You can't bring a character across to Maelstrom it makes no sense because the world is so different.
I know, but that wouldn't stop people trying, which is where the problems might come up.
True. But the PD crew would be forewarned of it, and thus somewhat able to steer people away from it.
And there'd be little wrong with the pre-existing groups forming into groups in Maelstrom, as long as they did fit within the setting.
Then the fit hit the Shan

| If it was with a 'crash' then they'd be some bit of splintering as people ran their own thing, and then I'd imagine the LT 'old guard' would get their act together and we'd see a brave new lrp, probably taking advantage of the crash to build in stronger changes to the company structure, etc. A gradual slide would be seen coming a mile off, and step would be taken either to pack it in, sell it off and run it under new management. If all the lynchpins of the organisation where to explode in King Ralph, then chaos would ensue after a short period of mourning. You'd get a chunk of LRPs that would run once, and I'd imagine a number of the smaller sanctioned event organisers would move onto running their own thing, and it'd all be a bit of a mess. Doug (6/2/2008) I know, but that wouldn't stop people trying, which is where the problems might come up.Not really. People do port 'concepts' over regardless of system. That's their thing, and their loss, to be honest.
