Unfortunately whilst editing and removing posts the previous Q&A forum was deleted...
This section is for players to post OOC questions regarding the game of refuge (rules, setting, char concepts etc).
I would ask that players post constructively and maturely or I will remove the offending posts. I have no issue with players disagreeing but do so in an adult manner. This section of the forum is for new and existing players to review in order to improve their understanding of the system and answer any potential queries.
In order to rebuild this forum anew I would ask players who have posted questions to re-post any questions they remember.
Regards
Refuge

| Forum cleanup <Retrieved from previous forum> Some of the comments recently in this thread have been somewhat inappropriate and it will do no good for players reviewing the forums to read them. Understand that I have no objections to people disagreeing openly but would ask that feedback be both mature and constructive. Don't bother with the C+P explanation, I'd hate to see your e-peen get even bigger. Quotes such as the one above are immature and not constructive. As regards changing the grammar on the website: a) The website will shortly be undergoing a 'complete' make over. part of which will allow players to access and their character details and spend xp online. The grammar changes will be implemented then if deemed necessary. b) Adding too and working over the rules in order to improve the system and make it more enjoyable for the players will take priority over petty grammar errors and the like. We strive to improve constantly and these will eventually be amended however as they clearly transfer the message needed we wont be wasting time on it now. Argue away but do so maturely and with a clear goal or intention for improvement. If you do not feel this applies to you then it probably doesn't so dont take offence. Regards Refuge

Rule Confusion: "Man Down" is an OOC ONLY Call <retrieved from previous forum: Apache>
In the last event there were a few calls of "Man Down" made for IC injuries, please be aware that "Man Down" is an OOC call ONLY and should not be used as an IC call for ANY reason.
MAN DOWN This call can be used by anyone, when someone suffers a real, OOC, injury of any type. Wave your arms in the air while shouting this, to make yourself obvious but do please check that that it is a real injury and not just someone role-playing an injury before calling Man Down. If you hear this call, stop what you are doing immediately and move clear of the injured person. Do not echo a man down call as this can often lead to confusion as to where the injured person is. The only time you should repeat this call is if you believe other people in the immediate area have not heard the call and are in danger of fighting or moving towards the injured person. Anyone calling Man Down should be able to point out to a First Aider or Emergency Services the location of the injured person.

| <retrieved from the previous forum: Agent K> In other systems the cries of 'healer!' are echoed accross fields. Considering the era and setting of Refuge, imho a cry of 'Apothecary!' might do the trick and a bit more IC?

If you are lucky enough to have a skill at 4 then you can teach other players to reach that level or lower. We are considering expanding the teaching rules so keep watching the forums Regards Refuge

| Heroic status Players are capable of gaining heroic status over the course of the game. To gain this status players must first accumilate ten blessings and then undertake an extreemly dangerous (and often fatal) quest to gain the attention of the gods. Though the risks are great the benefits are worth it. Those with heroic status may choose one of the pre-defined status options. No two players may have the same heroic status. Below are some rough examples: Herculian Strength: The character can cleave one handed one per day and launch enemies as per the damage call once every ten seconds. In addition to this the character altomatically wins strength based contests with all but the most powerful entities. Weapon Master (define weapon): Weapon master can be taken by multiple players so long as the same weapon is not chosen. Weapon master allows players to increase weapon skills beyond five. Immortal: The character never 'bleeds' enough to die and cannot be killed by disease or poison (though will still suffer the effects as normal). Beast Slayer: The character has an additional two cleaves which can be used with any weapon and a free 'deflect' but only when fighting powerful monsters. "Im here to kill your monsta!". Pinicle of Perfection: The character can increase an academic or gathering skill beyond 5. Spirit singer: The charater can change their magic sphere at the begining of each day. Once changed the character retains that sphere untill the following dawn. These are just examples and there are many more and that will be added to the final rules. Regards Refuge

Some heroic abilities, I know some are minor but this could create a minor and major favours list
Friendly Face - All encounters for this character will be beneficial. They have a friendly face and will not be attacked when hunting/pioneering/fishing in downtime
Expert Finder - The hero recieves another roll on top of the number allocated for any region when scavenging.
Deep Pockets - Can carry extra resources back to camp
Godly Gift - Can cast 1 spell per day without godstones or the ability to use magic (the god picks the spell not the hero)
Enemy of Your God - Your god does not like one particular race and as their avatar you must kill them all. You will have a special call for every first hit against that race.
Poison Eater - You are immune to ALL poisons
Disease Immunity - As above for diseases
Physically Perfect - You do not suffer from any minor injuries including those that are magically inflicted
Weapon Expert - You gain one special call for every weapon although you may never get any weapon skill above 3
Stone Swallower - You can eat anything and can never starve.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agent K: A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.
Dread Pirate Roberts: Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.
Gustave Flaubert: Our ignorance of history causes us to slander our own times.

At the moment we are only having a single level of heroic blessings, some of the ideas you gave are suitable though and may appear within the finished rules.

TITLE: Caravan Location and Weather Conditions
Here are a few questions I have been hearing in regards to downtime:
Question 1
Q: Which territory do we count as being in during a downtime (for hunting etc)?
A: You count as being in the territory with the "R" on the map page of the website.
Map
Question 2
Q: How do I find out the current weather conditions?
A: As expalined in the Downtime and Renown rules the weather conditions are shown on the Map Page of the website. You may need to wait for the page to be updated so I advise watching the forums for the anouncement of such.
