| What Gifts The Wale Road Brings 18-20th July 2008
Candleston Campsite: http://www.candleston.co.uk/
Cost: Play £25 Crew Free
In the far west of Fenrik, in the mountains and by the sea, ships have landed. There sails and pennants mark them out as Vik but they have sent no emissary, instead they have spasmodically raided and started to make camp up on the beach and in the woods. Though not many yet there standing is war like and they are lead by a Huntlord Wafrik, A man who holds his title not on land ownership but upon daring raids and the blessing of some greater lord.
Does this herald an invasion? Have the Vik finally turned their greedy eyes upon a scattered and irresolute Fenrik? Or is this merely an opportunistic raiding party? If so what can they hope to find in the sparsely populated west?
Even the Vik already upon the island seem not to know.
This is the time for those with an interest in plunder, diplomacy, trade, or simply a wish to make their voice heard to travel into the west, to brave the mountains and the wild Mourne and meet this Huntlord Wafrik face to face.
For the Arkans there enemy on these shores is always of interest, can there tiny community survive if the Vik make inroads in an invasion, or even if they gain more say in the politics of Fenrik?
The Mourne will wish to know if this bodes well for there war on the Fomorie, or if this is some plan to undermine there work here.
Fir the Vik this is news from home, this Lord is not well known, for those who trade this is a disaster that could be turned to there advantage, for those who wage war this may be the employer who will bring them the plunder they need.
As for the Fenn, well, this is there land; these interlopers must be met and there goals ascertained and if they do come for war, they must be driven to the waters, there boats burned and there heads sent home as a warning. However, what if they don’t? What is it they want, and how much will the price of piece be if they are willing to fight for it? | A comment from our last event: "Wow,
As a player who played the very first Fates Dawn and who has now returned to it after a very long absence I was very impressed on all levels. My group turned up, had not even finished setting up and bang the role-plauying started. We had a weekend where we mixed with a wide variety of very well played NPC's and had our fair share of near misses, scraps and victories. We lost one of our group to a Wight and we managed to capture and enemy captain as well as part of the legendry Kingstone. We made good use of every fighting and role-playing skill we had and managed to go almost 95% in - character with regards equipment, tents and sleeping kit. I would like to publicly say a big thank you first to my group from travelling down to the event, secondly to the crew who where one of the most skilled and proffessional crew I have ever encountered and lastly to Gidion for having the guts and determination to bring back this old favourite. More legends where made that weekend than in a very long time and I was pleased to be there.
Gary Bates" We still have some places left if people are interested
