Just a curiosity thing really. What skills have you learned to do OOC for your character

I started learning magic tricks as I thought that being able to a few tricks would be handy for characters / NPC's and helps entertain people at events. As a result I've got a new skill what looks nice on my CV and can entertain my nephews any time I have to baby sit

Organisation (Herding Cats) - Advanced
Organisation (Conspiracy) - Medium
Diplomacy (Soothing Fragile Egos) - Advanced
Diplomacy (Networking) - Advanced

In short most things that are needed to keep a bunch of people pointed in the same direction and focused on the task at hand + longer term goals while fending off inter-group conflict and distraction by shiney things. I think these all count as hard skills

I've been trying to juggle LARP-safe throwing daggers. Not any good yet though.

I wanted to learn to sword fight because I was sick of being slotted all of the time.

I now now a sword fighting instructor for a battle re-enactment group and won the Medieval Total War sword and shield tourney.

Ive learnt a range of skills, but ultimately the most useful thing Ive learnt from larp has been confidence.

------

PD: St. Legion the blessed, ' "If you're a loyal eidolon, where were you when we killed the first-born?"

RW: Ketta Sheng "Girls are evil. They break your heart, and then your spear, and then they get killed"

EOS: Hasib Suran: "Yes, older brother, it's your choice. I only advise you."

TNN: Druid Coran: "Do not heckle me, witch!"

There are a plethora of social/manipulation skills that I have learnt from LRP.  I learnt how to firebreathe, partially for LRP but mostly because it looked interesting.  I also learnt how to commit things to memory by wrote, an immensely helpful thing and I have Labyrinthe's spell vocals to thank for that!

I learned how to sew with a machine, which has been incredibly handy. (I could already sew by hand, I'd just never had to make anything particularly large.)

I learnt to not be frightened of confrontation, physical or otherwise. I also learnt how to go camping (!) I learnt the noble art of balancing the carrot and the stick in order to get the result I want.
