N-E-X-U-S is a live action role-playing game in a grim near-future setting where national governments have crumbled, and in the wake of the chaos, giant corporations have seized control.
What makes N-E-X-U-S different from most other live action systems is that we use a system of organic interaction between participants to generate the ongoing stories and intrigue. We feel this offers you as a player, the most rewarding and mature experience available. The level you choose to participate in the game is entirely up to you. It is for you to explore just how deep the rabbit hole goes. If you want an immersive experience and a challenge on many levels where the onus is on the player to pursue their own goals, in a consistent and expansive, character driven environment, then N-E-X-U-S may be for you.
You’re invited to play whatever role you wish in the grim reality, be it: Mercenary, Medic, Scientist, Merchant or many more. In the Nexus you can explore and control Territories, build and develop Facilities, gather faceless Minions to do your bidding, manipulate Social & Economic conditions and research new Technologies & Equipment, all with tangible effects on game play.
With many participants and each with a myriad of agendas and motivations; intrigue, excitement and even conflict are common place.

We have a dedicated and growing community with volumes of information supporting the Nexus system on the links above. Please come join the fun, I’m confident you’ll not be disappointed!

After 4 years development we now have a solid and consistent platform to launch our events to new heights. Major improvements are underway for the ‘look and feel’ of the events as we explore life in the city slums of the bleak 2020’s, and all that live and die there. New encounters and scenarios are injecting more life into events, supported by fantastic new costume, armour and props of a quality rarely seen at LARP Events.

We maintain a unique and forward thinking approach to our game design; promoting organically created ‘character driven’ content that reacts to each Players contribution as the storey evolves, naturally. Much more then simple entertainment, we encourage your participation in this new experience. Your invited to come take a big bite of our universe and pit your skills and imagination into the mix, in the exploration of a very rewarding and mature environmental role-play.

Our weekend long events are based near J29 of M6 near NOTTINGHAM, starting end of MAY, continuing the end of JULY, mid SEPTEMBER and finishing in NOVEMBER –please view our online Event Booking & Character Management system for more details. Working closely with the team at Phoenix Airsoft Adventures, this year we hope to break open the boundaries of the Nexus universe and explore the dark underbelly of the Corporate dream, at ground zero; the inner City Slumms. Expect the unexpected!

We are always on the look-out for new PLAYERS & CREW who wish to share in the unique experience and offer a couple of discount schemes for new and established players. Please check out the links above and direct any questions you may have to me, or any member of our Game team, here, or via our forums.

Thanks for reading, please come and check us out!

Hi - quick question about Nexus.

I've noticed you use both Airsoft and latex weapons. Do you ever find the airsoft pellets damage the latex weapons? I'd have guessed it would, and is something of a concern to me - I don't want to get my shiny latex weapons damaged if I came to an event.

I was going to run for parliament, because I want to make the world a better place, but I ran into some old friends and went out for a beer instead.

Hi Iasus, apologies for the delay, not sure how I missed this!

I've personally tried and never found an airsoft replica will damage a LARP weapon. I expect there are situations where it could be made to damage, but those would be extremely over-powered with volumes of ammo, which we don't use at Nexus, and only at point-blank range, which of course, we discourage. In 4 years, I’ve had no reports of this happening, and none of our own kit has been damaged in this way.

From my experience; I don't think airsoft constitutes any additional risk to LARP weapons then running around with them, striking costume and amour, as you would normally.

I hope this is encouraging Iasus! Also, at Nexus ammo is also quite sparse to encourage role-play and interaction, combat is just something that happens every now and again and it really depends on what your personal motivation is, as to how much combat you will find. Different areas of the game zone encourage different types of play; CORP patrolled areas are relatively free from combat, while slip off into the back streets and factories, and you might find more then you bargained for…

Cheers - Nik

Are you interested in getting crew? I and several others are interested in getting large-scale LARP experience.

As someone who has been playing nexus from the start I have had no damage to my weapons from BB's chance of it happening has to be pretty low as it's not a high fire environment.

Ropes - Crew places do fill up quite fast for the main roles, but we are often in need of additional help with various more incidental roles, such as farmers, traders, and gun bunnies. You need your own airsoft kit, and we prefer if you are experienced LARPer as well, but its not essential.

Heres some additional setting info for our upcoming event, now only 5 weeks away!

In the following couple of weeks, we'll be publishing some photos of just a few of the new visions you can expect to encounter at the events. Stay tuned!

Updated Scene Setting for Phoenix Urban1: NEXUS LARP Event 1 & 2

This is what’s left; the bit between what the CORP did, and didn’t want. This is the outskirts of the once affluent, Birmingham City, now a decayed and dangerous slum, some 10-15km south of the old city centre and Corporate hub; Sanctuary District UK2. Walking one way leads out into the wilderness through miles and miles of Slums, arriving at the ‘No-Go Zone’ and certainly not a land you’d wish to travel alone. The other direction takes you closer to the Sanctuary District with its bright Corporate glow and security.

Here is what was worth too little to shield behind Corp fortifications. Urban areas shattered by food riots, factories decaying since the economic collapse, and a habitat for those not privileged enough to be deemed worthy of full Corporate support. But it is also here that the CORP finds it hardest to police. The sprawl of buildings provide too many hiding places to eradicate all of the problem elements and the rotting cityscape offering enough lost or forgotten delights to enable a significant population to survive. Who knows what can be found in this landscape; a long dead families emergency food supplies still hidden from view or maybe a broken computer to scavenge components from. Don’t for one second think your alone though, a CORP patrol isn’t the only threat here; from half-mad loners to organised gangs, everyone is fighting just to get by.

Amongst all this there is hope however. Corporate ‘Displaced Citizen Points(DCP)’ provide a stream of fresh Refugees to the area and inevitably some of these stay to create permanent organised communities. Health and security are usually the drives, basic medical facilities and people to trade with mean that the DCP’s become a hub of human activity and inevitably new communities. Whether this is a Corporate attempt to pacify the urban areas or a way to draw citizens closer to Corporate protection is debatable.

So come walk the line. Do as the CORP say, show respect to the gangs, draw comfort from the community and watch your back wherever you go. It’s not much of a life, but it’s yours and here’s probably your best chance of having one to live.

Overheard Corp Trooper:

"You have to watch yourself out here and be more practical than your training suggests. This whole area is our responsibility according to command but as long as the DCP is kept safe and open then that’s good enough to keep them off our backs.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to enforce the law on so many of these scum; I don’t see why it’s up to us to keep them safe when half of them would kill us if they got the chance, but we have our orders. The ones you really have to watch for are the gangs though, they don’t just dislike us, they look on us as a threat and a rival on their patch. You see a known gang member and you take him down before he does you. Mostly they stay away from us and we don’t go looking for them either. They know the tower has the firepower to keep them away while I’m not stupid enough to go into the maze of wrecked buildings out there without a combat squad ahead of me.

We got a job to do here but your main concern should be keeping yourself alive and your record clean so that you can get a posting out of this shit hole, and back to the Sanctuary."

Words of a local:

I like it here, plenty of opportunities if you know what I mean. The CORP bus in sheep and lead them into camp, all fresh pickings if you have a quick hand and an easy smile or if you catch one out wandering alone. Not all of ‘em are targets though, theres some you can tell just have something about them and you don’t want to risk it. I seen a kid think he could snatch a bag before, had his leg near shot off by some merc. Then there’s the ones who take the bait, decide to hang around and make a life here. They’re just like me but will never admit it, making their living off the flow of refugees Corona dump here; selling them drinks, patching them up, fixing their stuff. They look down on the likes of me but we’re all living off the CORP’s scraps.

Down by the DCP is where the CORP maintain control, out there is gangland and you better tread careful if they don’t give you permission to go there. Plenty of people go scavenging in the old factories and stuff, some pay their dues and others don’t, but then some don’t come back at all. If you can live by your wits you can have a life here, maybe you got a trade and want to work for a living, supplying the sheep with something or other. Just don’t be a sheep.

Out in the urban:

What do Corona do for us? Nothing. What does Corona do for anybody? Nothing. We don’t need them running around out here, they got their Sanctuary so let them stay there. Out here is what they didn’t want so its ours now, we fought for the right to be here and will fight again to stay.

We have eyes everywhere and know whats happening on our patch, we decide what happens here; theres other gangs always sniffing for a new place to be, but we’re secure. Most people are happy with us keeping other gangs out of the place of course, but I’m happy to make an example of anyone who complains.

Enough of the chat, what you need today? Guns or ammo?
