I think that only the weapon and shield would count towards carry cap, as the rest is worn, or tucked away somewhere on your person. The general idea i think is to stop people from carrying lots, and lots of scavenged items, or resources.

That's the whole point though, they physically can't carry round bulk items. With every item usble in game needing a phys rep, it's easy to control what people do and don't have on them. According to your reply, I'd only be able to carry one item around with me because 4 of my 5 allotted carrying slots are taken by my weapons (sword and two daggers) and shield.

I have a friend in LT who carries about 20 daggers about her person. She has very large breasts and wears about 12 daggers around her cleavage with more concealed around her sleeves and a pouch of throwing daggers on each leg.

What about for an archer who has a bow, quiver of arrows, two crossbow pistols and pouch of bolts, twin shoulder mounted shortswords and twin daggers? That's a fairly standard equipment set up for a well trained and experienced archer.

When weapons are sheathed do they count as being worn or carried?

I say if people can physically carry around all these items that they have scavenged then let them! It'll make robbing them of all they are worth a lot easier. I still see no point in limiting what people can carry in a LARP game, it makes no sense.

At the mo, I can only see a need for "units" to be capped - unless you have some appropriately weighted phys reps for your three units of stone, one of wood and fifteen animal hides that you can, personally, juggle somehow...

Also, as regards bolts - how many do you get for a point of resources, and are they reusable? If not, I have a suggestion to encourage the taking of higher levels of box/xbow skill. How about - each reset, you may fire up to your skill number of times without the bolts breaking. after this, the bolt will break and be lost if fired.

you like?

also, I like the idea of stashing stuff... however, as regards scavenging specialities, I think a higher chance of getting that table would be better than a better result on it. Also, I further to our talk t'other day, how about an "arcane" table within the current framework that has stuff you need lore to recognise?

interesting,

I dont like the idea of bolts being broken etc, due to the rate in which bolts and arrows are actually broken at events I was going to make it that if a bolt or arrow is broken in rl then it is also broken in game.

As regards carrying cap we discussed it a little this weekend. The caravan will store essential items and transport them for its members. The only things that will effects your carrying capacity (which will only be relervant for downtime periods) are shelters and resources, some of which will be heavier than others.

A players scavening skill will also take into account their ability to recognise potentially valuable items (though they may not know what they do). It may get confusing if referees have to keep track of what a players 'mysterious' item really is but its worth considering.

In addition to this does anyone have any suggestions for spells? Im looking at expanding (and correcting the grammar) on the common lore spell lists.

hey i was thinking for orienteering that if you have 3 points then your skilled enough to allow 1 other person 1 square ahead with you. at 5 you can take 1 person with you 2 squares ahead with you.

this would allow characters to work together more as one person with pioneering could be taken 1 square ahead with somebody with 3 points of orienteering or more and learn about that area.

in rl explorers travel in teams, often guided by a skilled tracker who knows the land and how to move through it undetected who takes the explorers who know what there looking for.

The only issue I would have with this suggestion mat is that it would confuse the downtime process even more. Players would have to mention who their taking and to where on top of the information for shelters etc. The other problem would be that bringing untrained novices with you through potentially hostile territory's would be extreemly difficult. As it stands orienteering is there for those players who wish to invest point in it as I believe it is a relevant and useful skill. But bonus points/ Specialties are going to be added to all skills shortly and being as orienteering allows you to travel safely between territories it is going to give you the ability to conceal the tracks of yourself and possibly others.
