Not sure about healer`s knee, but I avoid healer`s fatigue by pretending to be a scout or a preacher.

My other half suffers from it, along with the related condition 'Healer's Fatigue'. Whilst the rest of the players get to have a nice lie-down for five minutes as a consequence of being battered to a pulp, she runs around healing them and ensuring that their characters aren't going to die. Then the rest of the party continue refreshed because they've had a short rest, yet she's doesn't get an opportunity to actually sit down and get her breath back before they're trooping off to the next encounter and she has to do it all over again.

The healers, won't somebody think of the healers.

I get my revenge when playing medics by having special 'medicine' in a hip flask. You see only medical personnel are allowed to drink it to avoid accidental overdose...

Forget the stretchers... act like a proper medieval doctor and never actually touch the patient yourself in any way. After all, as a proper medieval doctor you are likely to also be a holyman and so forbidden to draw blood therefore you have a couple of assistants to do all the hard work and kneeling while you sit nearby on a comfortable chair and tell them where to cut (which is why you have a long, slender wand - you use this to point at the areas where your assistants need to cut)

One of our events, one particular healer was very popular because her 'healing potion' was a mix of port and lemonade. Very nice to taste... though she was careful to tell people OOC what was in it in case of 'accidental overdose'

In various forms of larp, when the arrows/rocks/BB's/IR bolts are flying, I've been known to lie down and use the patient for partial cover while administering healing.

If the system allows you to only heal yourself or other healers if there is a shortage. In some systems (Mainly the untested, unknown larps or LT with allot of osps.) A cleric can thrash a warrior in combat because he can just heal himself.

Absolutely. Being healed is a privilage, not a right, and make sure your warriors know it. Your knee hurts? They'd better make it worth your while to hurt it then, or don't bother in future.

Agreed. Who said medics have to be *nice*?
