While window(s) shopping, I noticed no-one sells (LARP) crossbows anymore.

Am I being dumb? Or have they all disappeared?

Arrowkaster used to pitch up but they retired I think.  Someone else is selling them now - memory burn - think it was Adventurers' Mart or lrpstore.  Try there first

PD: Dubious (so i'm told) and all round Arms Dealer of Mill-en

There's a salesman named Nigel who sells at Skully who makes and sells LRP safe crossbows. I'll try and find his details and get back to you. It does seem that Arrowkaster were the only major manufacturers of bungee cord crossbows out there though.

His are cheaper than ArrowKaster's were, and are perfectly usable, but don't look as good. I'm waiting for his nephew to get online so I can get the contact number.

Have you had a look at Hollow Earth?

http://www.hollowearthswordworks.com/crossbows.htm

They appear to claim their crossbows are bought by LARPers, but I guess you'd have to ask specialist questions about weighting and safety, etc.

Adventurers Mart definitely stocked Arrowkaster-style crossbows last time I checked, and I bought mine from them, as well as plenty of extra bolts, holders and so on. Quality products, fairly quick delivery, and generally nice people to deal with, to give my Ebay-style summary.

What do people reckon of the item on this page? I know jack-all about LRP crossbows other than the bungee-type things. Would this 'work' under most UK systems? Not much to go on but a picture.
