I'm after LARP safe claws, either just one or a pair.

I'm not wanting to spend an ungodly amount of money on them – £40-60 would be my prefered price range. I'd be prepared to go above that for particularly nice claws, or for paired ones, but not that much higher.

Given that the claws will be primarily used in Maelstrom, they'll need to be "at least 10 cm (4 inches) long measured from either the tip of the fingers or the knuckles, depending on which type of claws they are."

So, can anyone direct me to any likely places to get such? I'd like something that looks good, and is good in combat, but I realise that there's the warring sides of 'funkiness' versus 'price'. All suggestions welcome.

I just got my claws today (sadly not in time for maelstrom) from morbid masks.  They cost £75 for the pair, and do them in a range of colours.  Haven't used them in the field yet, but I'm very happy with them.

Any chance of a photo of them, either of yours or from their site, or wherever?

They are up on the site.

http://www.morbid.demon.co.uk/

go to the online store and browse through the menus. The site doesn't do direct links

You could try Mogwai's Monsters,

http://www.mogwaismonsters.co.uk/

They do a range of claws, and will do custom jobs (Which Morbid don't, afaik).

My partner is making very good LARP safe claws, recently sported at Maelstrom by several dracosians, passed as LARP safe there and at LT.

It started as a pair for himself and many friends commissioned pairs as they thought they were so good.

They can be from the fingertips (you can move your fingers individually) or from the back of the hand. Any colour and a mix of latex and fur. He is starting to take commissions. He was thinking of £45 a pair. Please PM me off post if you are interested.

I think I saw some of those - the one I saw was a thick shiny red glove with the claws poking out of the knuckles. I'd be rather interested in a set if you can do them coming from the fingertips, as I'll be wanting them as more active combat weapons than the knuckle-y ones. Prefereably in black (not fur) on the glove, with the claws being boney/chitin style colour.

Photos to make sure we're thinking of the same thing would be greatly appeciated though!

The ones you were thinking of the red claws that are Tom's, Ranovala's, and these are not the right ones!

I did take a picture quickly when they were drying. Mainly to demostrate why the working from home wasn't going so well. I am seeing better photo's from the new owners;

And a pair without the fur.

The claws are coreless, foam and then latexed.
