My girlfriend played a scarred Tritoni and she utilised Collodion painted on pre-makeup and then painted around - makes a nice pink lump of scar tissue.

I've been warned by some that painting collodian on to some make-up can cause in a chemical reaction resulting in burns. The reverse is fine, but I'd be very wary of doing that after the warnings.

On a side note. I have only noticed perfectly good looking wemics. Unlike the gnolls who have some with pieces of ears missing other scars.
I would like to play a tritoni warrior character. But from what little i know of the culture aka almanac and picked up, i would think that there would be a case of a male with a few scars etc.
So i was wondering if any body had any make up tips on how to give good scar effects for face painted peoples.
True there aren't many scarred Tritoni around at the moment, though I have seen at least two at festivals last year. As far as I could tell one was done with a thinly painted line of snaz (as it went over her eye) and the other was done with collodion.

Most of the scarred Wemics (and I have seen a lot, and played one, Switchblade - I guess you're just hanging out with the wrong Wemics ) tend to explicitly NOT make up the scarred section, then Collodion it. This gives a lovely contrast between the coloured 'fur' and the pink scar tissue (a lot of furred animals scar pink - the fur don't grow back).

Seconded. I'd recommend missing the snazz on the scarred part, and then using Collodion to create scarring - it creates a nice distinction. It's how I played Jig's scar, which always ended up looking pretty good.

I remeber Gin Tang as being the only scarred wemic. I dont remeber seeing any others. But your right i really dont hang around with wemics. Since most of my time is spent lurking around the Gnoll camp. Which is unsurprisingly devoid of wemic activities.

My last character (a human) had a scar running down the entire side of his face and I used Collodion for that, because I knew that hair doesn't grow in scar-tissue I shaved a line into my beard in line with the scar.
That was a PITA to do, so I started using white snazz on a comb to put a parting in the hair (pity I don't have any pics....I might just have to do it again for the files)
You could do that if you want to run a scar from the 'fur' into hair

ForgeCorvus (5/31/2009) because I knew that hair doesn't grow in scar-tissue I shaved a line into my beard in line with the scar.
I plucked a half-centimetre gap in my eyebrow on the scar line so as not to "break" it.
I do not recommend following my example.
Your snazz parting idea sounds jolly clever though - pics would be appreciated by the curious masses.

| Excuse me for resurrecting an old thread but: Has anyone achieved a convincing Wemic phys-rep without the use of makeup? How could it be done? If, hypothetically, one were an Eidolon who wanted to switch to a Wemic form quickly between manifestations at an event. (subject to the normal rules for Eidolon forms) I'm thinking of a thin balaclava with an appropriately wemical pattern, with perhaps a mane (wig) and ears sewn on, plus a latex mask of the type Kangena makes for the eye/nose area. Something I can pull on over my own face rather than spend time cleaning off one set of phys-reps to do another. In terms of costume, I'm considering Amusar style, with leather armour over long off-white robes. (Because Constantin can never have too many robes) A headdress could help.

Mask is always the way I go when doing quick changes. I like the idea of attaching integral hair.
Kangena do several 'Wemic' masks, the largest of which is quite the Egyptian god with the right paint job.
