Many of you may already be aware of this, but I think it is still worth posting so everyone is aware of it.

Next year is the 100th anniversary of the scout movement in Britain. From a discussion with a scout warden I had this afternoon, this looks like it could mean that scout sites are going to be booked solid for a good portion of the year. The the manager of the site I rang today (Horley in Banbury) told me that from March next year they are booked solid unitl the end of October.

So, if you plan any events next year and think you may need a scout site for them, it may be worth thinking seriously about it now because if it hasn't already been booked it probably soon will be.

Also as a side note to this the whole of the UK Scout movment is aiming to be camping on the 26th of May 2007, with some time before and after the given date. So anything planned for that weekend is very unlikly to get a Scout camp site.
