| A couple of mates run a Zombie larp game in Norwich that uses Nerf guns. The limited ammo, potential jamming and close quarters fighting makes for a really intense game. Of course they do run exclusivly indoors. I'm personally working on a pump up Nerf 'Sniper rifle' from a few bits I picked up at Halfords and B&Q. Still a few leaks in the system but when sorted I'm expecting a good 50-100ft range at about 30psi. Presumably it wouldn't be too hard to adjust the pressure regulators on some paintball guns and make them into pretty decent Nerf guns.

As a thought you could use Nerf Balls as grenades.

I`m afraid the area-of-effect would involve some heavy reffing.

| still pondering on grenades. As the game was initially Airsoft, the rules demanded goggles, whilst i was ready to remove that, i then found... pea grenades... yup, dried peas that explode out of a grenade... whislt i'm not sure on the pea potential to blind, I think IF they were to be allowed, then goggles would remain as a need. on top of that, if people were to increase their Nerf gun potential, safety goggles or at least glasses could prevent any nerf eye impaling. A Larpbow of course has some safety in that they are bigger than the eye socket, and a nerf dart is not. so from a safety view i'm torn now! perhaps a runner of a nerf siystem can let me know if they have any safety issues?

| Break it up into indoor guns and outdoor guns. Indoors the use of overpowered weapons isn`t allowed. Ic you can babble a bit about ricochets and pressure loss, but people rarely fight safety regulations when they`re reasonable. Reasonable inthis case being that you don`t need the extra range of modded weapons indoors, and you don`t want the extra bulk in a tight fight. Outdoors, goggles are mandatory. Something with an atmospheric condition that is also the reason buildings are pressurized. Might work? It would at least keep smaller guns interesting.

the initial rules had demand for goggles and masks due to atmospheric poisoning :-)

This is begining to sound like my kind of fun
So canons, full bore rifles, bombs and assult weapons outside where the air is poisoned (and so you need your goggles and breather mask)
Inside in order to protect the Habs you stick to your peashooters and blades, coz anyone toting the heavy stuff is gonna get nicked/shot on sight
Can I bring my crossbows, my bow, my ballista and my crowbar pretty please
BTW where do you stand on IDVs?

IDVs are a type of larp arrow made by a german engineering company called IDV (or rather something that has i.d.v. as its initials, I think)
They are passed as 'safe' at Maelstrom, but not (as far as I'm aware) at LT or CP.
http://www.idv-engineering.de/html/larp.html, is the link for their site, its in german
There has been lots of debate on here, best to try the search
