| I might be jumping the gun here but I might of found a source for curved weapon cores. Of coarse they may not stand up to my destruction tests but the supplier is pretty confident about their product. So anyone got any ideas for what should be included in my first batch of curved weapons? I was thinking cutlass, military saber, scimitar…..any other ideas?

katanas and other assorted samurai swords are always popular it seems, if you can get the right curve of course

Oh yep forgot the katana. The cores should be able to be curved to almost any profile (within reason).

Awesome. Would be interested to know about your supplier once you've done the tests of course. Are they fibre-glass, carbon fibre or 'other' ?

They are fibre glass with a bit of other thrown in. The rods are machine made so they are not homemade glass fibre.

Cheers James. They're great. Like them all. The Khopesh might be pushing the capabilities of the rods but I really like those weapons. Makes you wonder whether a weapon that shape would be any use or were they purely ceremonial. I'm going to have to brush up on my ancient weapon designs. I'd like my range of weapons to be based solidly in real world historical weapons (with a certain artistic licence), no Dragon rune swords at the moment I'm afraid.

A falx would be amazing - that style of sword was really common in the ancient world, so would be pretty nice to see some at LARP.
What about kukris?
For each man on earth, life is waiting for death.
Let he who can win glory - that is the warrior's best bulwark.

Now I’d love to make a Falx and a Kukri. It’s entirely possible. I seem to remember that there has been some safety issue rumbles in the past when people have mooted the idea of kukris. I can’t see the problem myself if you are pulling your blows I suppose just warning the purchaser to check with the system they aim to use it at whether it is deemed ok to use, would be best.
