Is there a requirement for everyone attending to play UNIT troops or associated scientists, or can one be something slightly different -- random occultists who accidentally stumble across the situation & get drawn in despite the best efforts of UNIT command to keep them out, say, or a small group of inexperienced & rubbish Torchwood members temporarily seconded to UNIT? (Not that I will object in the slightest if Torchwood don't exist at all in your Universe -- I sometimes wish they didn't exist in mine!)

| Hi Ian. I'll confirm with Ocelot, but I'm pretty sure no-one will have any problem slotting that sort of character in to the game. The core of U.N.I.T. has always been the scientific advisors with military backup, but in the Doctor Who stories various other characters come and go. There may be specific constraints to do with the location of the game, but I'll check. Torchwood. Yeah, not a big fan myself. In the Team Torpedo U.N.I.T. universe, Torchwood are seen as a shadowy 'non accountable' organisation which isn't considered trustworthy (or professional). U.N.I.T. are responsible for the interests of the planet as a whole under the authority of the United Nations. Torchwood are funded and controlled by the British crown, (or somebody at Buck House), and are technically considered a 'black operation'. There may or may not have been Torchwood infiltrators in the last game (but obviously we couldn't confirm or deny that...) H
Is there any tea on this spaceship?

| Aitch is pretty much correct there Ian - The options outlined in the player booklet are UNIT commando or civilian specialist, with various skills to choose from to start building a character, but new suggestions (for character types and skills) are welcome. A player's character background can be as detailed or as sketchy as the player wants, ranging from "Second UNIT trooper on the right" to a detailed career and personality breakdown.

Cool. Thanks. Right, now to convince Richie to come along too... which didn't look THAT tough.

| Already trying to come up with characters that aren't just "British Daniel Jackson" (as I've palyed that more than once already). I'm massively up for it. Actually while I'm here (and I'm sorry, the information is probably already on your website or something, but I'm far too lazy to look) is there an option for people to hire the lazer-tag stuff from you, and if so how much would that cost?

Floody (2/10/2008) I played the last game and it was superb. Well written and superbly propped, looking forward to part two.
For anybody who fancies playing the next one but has never tagged before there is always hire or loan kit available.
Looks like they are sorting out kit for those that don't have it. I'm really tempted to give it a go. I went to a few tag games many years ago and I can say the main thing that struck me was how friendly everyone was and how high quality the games were. Fantasy LRPers sometimes think tag is just running around shooting, yep it can be but most of it ain't. The tag bit is just a game mech.

| Richie, tag gear will be available to borrow - there's a returnable £10 deposit per item, so a gun and sensor would be £20. You'll get the money back when you return the gear undamaged. There's a box to tick on the booking form (Which we hope to be sending out soon) if you need the gear.

[quote]Richie H-R (2/13/2008) Already trying to come up with characters that aren't just "British Daniel Jackson" (as I've played that more than once already)./quote]By which, of course, I mean the useless, geeky accident prone Daniel Jackson from the film, not the sexy macho action-man he becomes in the series. I think that's a little outside of my range. Ocelot - that sounds great. I'm not going to able to afford a lot of dressing up like a twat this year, but I'm going to really see what I can do about making this one.
