Hi all, due to an injury a lot of my weapons are for sale.
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZwaynewas1I'll happily combine postage, arrange for a pickup or maybe meet you at an event of somewhere else in the country as I am often traveling.
Currently based in Christchurch, Dorset but Southampton, London, Cambride are common haunts.

Its beyond a bit steep for most of the items. Ok I can understand the sheild costing a fair bit to post, as its something odd shaped and you don't want it damaging but the rest well theres things I'd be interested in but the postage is putting me off.

If you look at the postage costs implemented by Royal mail last year, you're probably not getting a bad deal, bear in mind that packages aren't priced purely on weight anymore, the size has a big impact as well.

I have loed. I'm a feairly regular buyer and seller on ebay. Those prices are way beyond those that I would be charging or have been charged. I guess its diferent things for different people, but on a tight budget over generous postage is enough to stop me doing more than look sadly.

| I sold a few of the weapons I had in stock last year with a fiver postage, and that covered all of them. Admittedly I didn't send a stave or anything that size. The longest was a 36" sword and the postage on that was about £4.50 High postage does put people off sadly

| According to the Royal Mail rule changes last year (pretty much designed to scupper small businesses) you can't send anything over 150cm by Royal Mail or ParcelFarce. Anything over that size (parcels longer than 150cm / 5' long) have to go by courier. And unless you send by ParcelFarce or courier, or unless you send more than 5000 parcels a year so that you can use the BusinessPost service, you have no way of tracking a parcel either (and let's be fair, Recorded Delivery is hardly trackable since you can only track it after it's been delivered). It's actually cheaper to use a courier via a third party booking service than to use ParcelFarce (I really should stop calling them that). We used to send everything up to 5' by recorded delivery but the rule change made the maximum size for recorded 60cm, which basically means daggers and not much else. Lynne

Same as Lynne here, I don't charge anything over £7.50 unless it's international or very heavy / oddly shaped. Swords are a fiver. Basket hilt rapiers (my speciality) get a lot of internal packaging to stop them being crushed, so some up to 7.50 . No higher. That includes the packaging. And I don't use a business service, only the local post office (they are in stumbling distance so it's easy) and so far my farthest order has gone to Norway, my farthest request in Canada. The Norway Order was 15 quid, the Canadian was going to be £55, so I refused to allow someone to pay that. (as in I didn't do the order)

Hi all,
About the postage charges, they are based on royal mail charges. the actual royal mail costs according to thier website will be abouy £7:50 add in the card and bubble wrap and its costs me more. To those that messaged me and too anyone I sell stuff too, if they can find someone who will send it cheaper then I will post via them as long as they add another £1.00 to cover bubble wrap and card.
Or just arrange a convenient meeting place or pickup, both of which are prefered
Maybe I have got something wrong but nothing sucks more than a weapon selling for 0.99p and then you end up makeing a loss after postage and fees!
