Sweeney Todd is an excellent film, well worth a cinema trip. Johnny Depp is his useful excellent self.

I loved it too.

People walked out though.

We reckon either

a) They didnt know it was a musical and left.

b) They thought 'Lovely Sondheim' and then were a mite peturbed by the somewhat graphic slaughterage

Depp and HBC did fantastically well with the songs given neither of them are singers by profession as such...

Slight dissapointnment for anyone familiar with the musical is that they cut "The Ballad of Sweeney Todd" not sure why though given its the main theme they refer to the song in the background score.....

Weirdness.....

Sascha Baron Cohen was shite.... completely over the top and managed to ham the whole thing pathetically.... (which was hard cos its quite hammy as a concept.) His singing stunk. I have no idea why he was cast.

odd because...

weird cameo from Anthony Head who gets ten words and not even a song!

pretty sure sascha was meant to be an over the top role, i mean look at the pants he was wearing.

Still, i enjoyed watching him die, twas gorishly good
