These have the buckles sewn on rather than riveted. The are water and hide glue hardened 4mm leather. They are tooled with knotwork inspired by medieval architecture, i personally prefer the sharp angles in knotwork. They are dyed dark brown and waterproofed. £40

These are just water hardened and tooled with knotwork, they have a mahogany antique finish. Straps are riveted. 4mm leather £45

Celtic bazubands, on the pic they are just temporarily sewn on the pic with 1 thickness of the thread. They have been re sewn with thread several times thicker. THe straps are riveted on. Mahogany antique finish. 4mm leather. £30

This other stuff is reenactment grade stuff, but can do for larp i suppose;
water and hide glue hardened (this process makes the armour lighter than the leather it was made from, and its not brittle at all), 4mm leather. The vambrace and rerebrace set are tooled with a design inspired by medieval art and some extant armour. (I can give references if necessary) The rerebraces are slightly dished at the top, and have to holes for arming points(the pattern is inspired by the rerebrace in the British museum). As to the protection, I personally wear arms like these (with a metal elbow and different design) for full contact steel combat, and as long as a gambeson is worn underneath, you barely feel either of the following: swords or weight Smile As to the size, its very adjustable (I lend my personal armour to others on a regular basis and it fits fine). The belts are riveted, I used brass historically shaped buckles.

By the way, the mahogany antique finish is darker than on the pictures.

Thanks,
Kersme

P.S. if not sold here, these will probably go on ebay. I take paypal.

EDIT: I forgot to say that the leather used was 4mm sole bend.

I love the look of the re-enactment grade full arms. Just out of interest, what kind of price would you be charging for a pair of those, made to measure, decorated with the floral design there & maybe also painted? (From what I recall of photos of the medieval Italian decorated cuirboilli armour, it tended to be mostly painted white, didn't it, with the designs picked out in other colours?)

Well, possibly around 70-80 pounds, roughly. As to the white, well I've yet to see any sources for that exact color, as the all sources of medieval leather armour (i know of) are colorless, though they were painted for sure. I've only done one painted reenactment grade armour until now, and that was a rerebrace "reproduction"(well kind of, i looked at a picture and tried my best to copy it) from 1335, Naples. The problem with custom stuff though, is I tend to avoid making it, as I'm very busy, and leatherwork is just a hobby of mine. So if you did want a set, we'd have to discuss timing. Anyway heres a picture of the painted armour i did. (to be honest the painting isn't that hard, anyone with a steady hand could do it).
And here is the pic of the effigy I copied from:

Also, for the record, the reenactment grade stuff I make isn't boiled in water or wax. It's shaped with a hammer, like metal, and hardened using a water, hide glue, and baking method, yielding a light(er than the original leather used) yet tough and flexible protection.

Thanks for looking, Kersme

Thanks! I will see if I get my new job, and if I do, I'll commission a pair from you -- that's an excellent price. No worries on the timescale -- I'm used to waiting several years for my (steel) armoure
