| Heroquest runs 2 adventures a month for adventure groups of 10-14 people. This ensures that all the players are fully involved the entire time they are at the event. they are also running their first festival event this may - something not to be missed Hi there - hope you dont mind the personal message, if you would like to know more about the weekend email me on markst@blueyonder.co.uk Mark HEROFEST 2nd – 5th May 2008 24th – 26th October 2008 laceName w:st="on">CandlestonlaceName> laceType w:st="on">CastlelaceType> Campsite, South Wales Heroquest, one of the longest running Live Role-Playing (LRP) clubs in the UK, are conducting two Fest style events this year. They are combining all of the fun of a Festival weekend and the rich detail of an established campaign, with none of the disadvantages of either. The result will be an excellent weekend with an in depth campaign background (spanning 21 years), allowing characters to immerse themselves into the LRP experience. The events cater equally for veteran role players and those with little or no role-playing experience. This is the ideal opportunity for a weekend break in an idyllic location, being entertained and able to take part in a relaxed themed event. Ever wondered what Live Role-Playing was about and wanted to give it a try? Already a role player and wanted to show your friends and family what you get up to? Then this is the event for all! Herofest is a low hit and low fantasy system, which is easy to master, no prior experience is required. Each event is part of an overall campaign where players can shape future plot, but is also a self-contained adventure. No players are advantaged over another and all are equal. A simple rulebook and brief campaign summary, explaining everything you need to know, is available on request. Over the weekend you will become immersed in a detailed background plot whilst the different factions complete a variety of tasks and challenges to achieve their Factions goals. The events will be attended by a number of LRP traders and there will also be a bar and food available. Costumes, accessories and weapons are available for hire from the Herofest staff if required. The events are based at the Candleston Castle Campsite, Merthyr Mawr, Near Port Talbot, South Wales, not far from J35 of the M4. The campsite is easily accessible and has on site parking. The Candleston site is 100 acres of woodland and camping in a secluded area, which also has access to the beach and sea. There are permanent toilets and washroom with showers and constant hot and cold running water; there are also numerous water points throughout the site. The cost of the event is £50 per person if you book before 1st March 2008, £55 before 1st April 2008 and £60 per person thereafter. Each of the six Factions will have twenty players to ensure that everyone can participate fully. Therefore there are limited vacancies so book early to avoid disappointment. *bump*
So, anyone fancy having a mid-week pub meet kinda thing? There used to be an occasional get together at the Square Peg in Birmingham city center, it would be good to re-start it ahead of the new academic year.
Reply with what day(s) of the week are best for you and we'll take it from there.
