| Two? Why two? He managed to butcher the LOTR into three films how comes the hobbit needs two? Perhaps its to insert new made up sequences where bilbo falls off a cliff for no reason and Gloin has homoerotic dreams about him?

Two? Why two? He managed to butcher the LOTR into three films how comes the hobbit needs two? And what a butcher job that was.. I mean three films for lord of the rings... How did they come up with that number? Where do these people get off thinking a single book can be split up in these ways...

| I am worried by the two film option, but not unduley worried. The Hobbit from what I can tell wont be split (unless its lots shorter films than LOTR) there is not enough there to split. So what is the second film? It seems like it will be things between the Hobbit and the Fellowship, what could be called politicing and the expansion of Mordor, however it does not seem like it will be a scriptwriters invention, but taken from clues and appendicies from the Lord of the Rings.

Well being pedantic, the LOTR saga was written as four books Yeah, It's a shame new line didn't greenlight "Lord of the Rings: The appendices"
