Afternoon all, i need to ask a quick question.

Ive just got back from a sparing session with a freind of mine.
Unfortunatly it seems we might have over done it, as ive not got a 42" broadsword with a snapped core.

Its right at the base of the blade itself. It was a bloody good sword. Only had it since saturday.

Any way i can get it repaired?

If you've only had it since saturday I'd have a word with the person that made it.

With snapped core though generally I find you have 2 choices.

  1. If it is right at the end, cut it down and make it smaller.  Generally only works with axes/hammers/maces rather than than blades to be honest.
  2. Throw it away.  Broken core is a fairly "mortal wound" for weapons.  Although dont through the core away, it can always be used for daggers etc.

Well, id like to know who made it, i bought it second hand from Hiffano.

Weapon wise it would only end up as a handle and a blade...

If anyone knows where/who makes swords like this, plz let me know:

Looks like a Medlock sword to me.  If you bought it 2nd hand then the option of speaking to the maker is out the window to be honest.

If it broke where you said it did, bin it.  To be honest, any core break = weapon dead.  Construction process means once that snaps the whole thing is pretty useless unless you want to cut it down below the break, after stripping the weapon of latex, then remaking a piece that is the "new sword tip" and relatexing.  Sounds like you werent up to that and I wouldnt do it.  I'd offer to remake the whole thing in the same style if possible if it was me, which it isn't.    If it looks like a Medlock, go to them, or wander around for some second hand blades if anyone is selling one.

Good luck.  Unless you want a new one, then mail me and i'll see what I can do for you.

Ill give you a PM in a minute
