Anybody used them?  never made lamellar, more chain than you can shake a stick at, but never lamellar.

Anyone care to illuminate me on lamellar construction?

I've only ever used leather (sometimes edged with metal), or metal, to make lamellar or scale. Best resource is probably the Silk Road Armour site:

It's a fiddly PITA, generally, but certainly no more so than making mail armour.

After spending days punching, filing and swearing at 200+ steel plates, I have to say that the actual lacing stage is a pleasure. If you've made mail, lamellar (especially plastic lamellar) will be a piece of piss for you.
