The setting is a remote in the Forgotten Realms world. All characters start shipwrecked on the island, with little equipment.  There are player character and NPC settlements on the island, struggling to survive and figth over limited resources (a custom written craft system is implemented). It's a survivalist setting with political elements.

The server aspires to be 'character-driven'. AI runs monsters, but DMs hand-moderate the higher level descision (i.e. if you raid the goblins, they fortify and raid you back) and run some 'plot.' 

It's free to play, but requires NVN2. It has not yet been adapted to accomadate the recent expansion pack. 

I've been playing for a few months and had a really good experience of it.  I also played in one of the earlier NVN1 incarnations many years ago.
