Yes, I hate drumrolling as much as anyone, however its very hard to make rules against it. Its something that we discourage and certainly wouldn't want our NPCs doing it.

| I see as we are talking about it, that the "drumrolling" fell into two distinct categories as I saw it: 1) The person was Dual Wielding and was literally hammering blows one after the other, but drawing back each weapon as per the rules (distance = weapon length) so perfectly acceptable in my book. Pete did some lovely smashing with his particular style. Still a "doubledoubledouble" but nicely in the rules that I could see. 2) Tippy-Tappy blows with a pole arm calling "singlesinglesinglesingle." Looked like a genuine Newbie mistake. I did hear murmurs around that sort of behaviour and I agree, bad form. I think any drumrolling should be dealt with on the spot by Refs if they feel it's a problem. If it means taking the player aside and just "showing them what is acceptable" that should be enough i'm sure. I didn't see any NPC's doing it, or tiptapping blows either. I did see some quite heavy blows from players on npc's though, which seemed a bit harsh. "Pull Your Blows" I would consider a reasonable call from the refs, just as a warning to those hitting too hard. The NPC players took them with good grace, but you could see they had been abused a little by the end of the weekend.

| Now I know a lot about dagger fighting and you can fight perfectly legitimately and incredibly fast. It may appear as Drum rolling but a quick succession of dagger strokes is all in how far you move your arms and wrists and in what direction. There are many techniques to dual dagger fighting and understandably these are mostly designed to put as many hits on the target in the shortest amount of time possible. I dont fight with daggers at EOS but I would not stop any one using styles of dual dagger wielding that complies with the rules. The words Drum Rolling are applied to to many styles. Drum Rolling to me is when some one moves nothing but their wrists with both daggers directly in front of them vertically, it is a cheap, unskillful and unsporting way of fighting.
The EOS rules do not allow this type of fighting as the tip of the blade can not travel far enough. The rest of the knife fighting techniques: Figure of 8, double tap, clock face, together and back, etc are perfectly fine in my book.

I was not aware of this. If something like this happens, take it, then find a ref after.
In EoS a weapon needs to travel half its weapon length to do damage, so tippy tapping with polearms does nothing. It is still possible to drum roll with daggers to some degree though, but actively and strongly discouraged as bad play.

The pole arm thing, I think was a newbie mistake. I know the person concerned so I'll have a word when next I see them and go through how to fight in a valid manner with a polearm.
I know the person would be mortified that they might have caused issue so it was certainly not a deliberate action on their part.

Would there be any chance of including something about having shrines to specific deities and will gains? For example that praying to the shrine of a specific deity reduces the amount of time to regain lost will points? ie 'Lammied' shrines? Or is this covered in the 'how you pray' rules?
