The caretaker of the orphanage stumbles flustered in to the tavern ,

"Barman get me a drink and make it a strong one" she sits down heavily at the bar " and quickly please"

She grabs the drink and downs it.

"I am going to be in so much trouble I'll lose my job and if that happens how am i going to support my family, my husband died last winter and i have six children to feed and put a roof over their heads and i mean where could they have gone i mean they where in her hands when I watered the flowers round the statue of emmy this morning and when I went to get bread for dinner they were gone I just don't know what could have happened to those marbles and Prelate Percival said they were so important. I have looked everywhere oh what am I going to do and how do I tell the Prelate that they are gone."

after this her words became unintelligible because of her sobs.

A commotion is heard outside the tavern as a road weary messenger on a lathered horse approaches Percival.

He drops out of his saddle and wearily staggers forward saying to Percival "Your Grace I am glad I have finally found you. I have a message of utmost importance for you from the Senior Council of Galrath bearing the seal of the Voice."

He hands over a finely crafted parchment of very high quality bound with expensive silk bearing the sacred seal of the voice.

Percival takes the parchment and closes his eyes in concentration for a moment. Something seems to meet his approval and he open his eyes again. He turns to the messanger.

"I thank you for your dilligence and attention to duty. Please go inside and get yourself something to eat and drink. Take a few moments to rest, you have obviously seen your duties through with great care. I will have someone see to your horse. I shall speak to you more in a few moments, and determine whether there is a return message."

Percival calls one of the young grooms over and gives him instructions for the horse along with some money. When the horse has been led away and the messanger has gone inside Percival opens the parchment and carefully reads the contents.

Percy reads the missive carefully his face impassive.

Once he has finished he sighs and takes out a piece of parchment nowhere near as grand as the letter he has received. He writes a few words and seals the parchment.

He then goes inside to find the messanger instructing him to rest for the night before returning with the response.

He looks somewhat troubled as he walks to the bar and orders a drink.  After a few moments he smiles and says, seemingly to himself " I will prove myself worthy"

As he drinks he spots the caretaker of the orphanage and offers her a drink

"My dear lady, a pleasure to see you.  How go the preparations to reopen the orphanage?"
