I guess most of you wont know me, other than in the mornings and evenings of the events, carrying food to the tavern or taking the empties back, but I have now fallen into the role of your cook.
As such I appreciate comments about the food being good. But what I'm after is comments about whats served, amounts, times, etc.
The biggest problem I have is trying to work out how much food to serve - I'm not used to cooking for 50, so at the moment I am guessing at how much is enough.
So, at Pandoro's Travelling fair:
Was the meal on Friday (coldish chicken drumsticks & veg stew) ok? More like that?
Was Saturday's breakfast good enough for non-meat eaters? I am aware it was a large pile of meat with some fruit.
Was there enough fish stew on Saturday evening? Was it nice (because I didn't get any!)?
Was Sunday's breakfast big enough - do people want porridge (well, they must do because it all went) - do you want more porridge than that?
Also there was a deliberate attempt to feed you all up in the morning on Saturday because of the nature of the event - would you like to continue with that, or have smaller breakfasts and have some kind of light lunch?
If you don't make your opinions on food heard then you have no excuse if you go hungry on events!
Adrian.

| For my part I am and always have been a fussy eater (I don't like 99% of veg for example) but I have always found something to eat in about 75% of the meals provided at nycto, which says good things! Meat is always good for me, although I realise some people who attend are going to be veggies. A bowl of bacon of a morning is always a good incentive to get up! I think breakfast and dinner is a good combination as most people seem to bring disguisable snacks to munch on through the day. one comment I would say is that dinner may be better served before nightfall, for 2 main reasons - one is that people can identify it! a bonus, if like me you dont eat a lot of things, the other is that most plot seems to occur after dark and a lot of people tend to prefer to eat rather than go tromping into the woods if something happens. I love the fact Nycto provides food. Less to pack and no interruption to the flow of the event. I'm a particular fan of the porridge, nice to have a hot veggi breakfast. Saturday breakfast was fine by me, there was cheese and bread also. I like the large breakfasts and suppers, too much going on during the day to stop for lunch (although if you want to leave some more fruit and cake in the tavern for during the day nibbles, I'll not object.). If you're doing cold cooked meat for a meal, could we have some spicy veggi sausages too?
Thanks.

First of all, kudos to the cook. I missed most of the food provided this event due to being busy with other things, but what I got was tasty and plentiful.
The veg stew/cold meat/bread thing definitely works for me. Porridge for breakfast is nice, but I kinda missed the sugar and random fruit to go with it--either because people had eaten it all by the time I got there, or there wasn't any in the first place. Also, if the facilities on site allow it, some tea or coffee would be hugely appreciated. (I'm afraid I'm rather spoiled by previous events in this regard.)
I, for one, would be rather happy about some sort of lunch on Saturdays--veg, bread and cheese available in the tavern, you know the sort of thing I mean. I was pretty glad I'd brought enough food to feed a small army, because that's more or less what I ended up doing (if you can call five hungry questers an army, that is. A very, very small one maybe.).
Anyway, that's the only quibbles I had about food this event. Keep up the good work.

Teh Katie (8/20/2007) some tea or coffee would be hugely appreciated. (I'm afraid I'm rather spoiled by previous events in this regard.)
There was certainly coffee on sunday morning, appologies if the morning guards drank it all before other people got to it.

The trekking through the woods definately worked up an appetite! It doesnt do to face a horde of undead or some rampant ferals on an empty stomach! the foodage was definately appreciated. Dan/Konrad

Well, in that case we obviously need more coffee.

| To be honest I missed most of the food as I wasn't entirely sure where it was and what times. When I did get to it it was cold and not much left. Some of the people I was with had that problem also. Maybe if the tavern had been used more ? With someone on hand to help serve and potentially heat up? Btw am not having a go just mentioning it from my point of view. Catering can be a pain to get right when your trying to do itloads of people : )

Meredith (8/24/2007) To be honest I missed most of the food as I wasn't entirely sure where it was and what times. Maybe if the tavern had been used more ? With someone on hand to help serve and potentially heat up? The tavern usually get used more, and since we've (hopefully) IC scared off the last temporary barlad, I'll be sitting in the tavern nagging people as usual and keeping lanterns lit. :-) And bringing a pack of cards etc.. Anyone up for storytelling?
