... terrible luck with ae heads... how do i stop them from comming away from the core and spinning around??

I know there’s a few ways to do it, but what I used to do was:

  • make the handle (so it’s just a short staff or stick)
  • then glue a block of foam to one side which is the width of the handle
  • then glue a sheet of thin leather or later nylon sacking from one side of the block to the other around the back of the handle
  • then glue a sheet of foam over the whole lot around the back of the handle and block
  • then carve the axe head
