| To be fair, a Logan's run LARP game could be brilliant. All players must be over 30 (although I wouldn't qualify for that, I'm still a few years away). You could have the crew as solely people under the age of 30 doing the 'hunting down'. Definitely has potential as an idea. On topic a little more though, I don't think age necessarily brings maturity. I've met v. long standing roleplayers who bore me to deadth about World of Warcrack when I'm deeply immersed in a game, and had people from the younger generation creating same amazing angsty moments. Age difference has given me at least one good LRP moment when a twentysomething ref complained 'cos I outran him!

| Invitation only (Gitless events) are often very fine, at least in part becuase the organisers are more relaxed. Running events with a high numpty factor is hard work and, let's face it, LARP is normally well populated with Numptys.

I'm a big fan of "mature" player invitation-only games.
At the same time, making an arbitrary age-based judgement on who is mature and who isn't is frankly insane.
I'm 27, and when I run or play at events targeted at "mature" players, the age range of invited people is for the most part between around 22 and 45, and the attitude towards safety, involvement, costume, characterisation, and atmosphere has always been top notch from everyone.
I'm not a massive fan of younger kids at events (below 14-18ish?), because they usually lack the understanding and perspective to play their character authentically, and in worst cases have poor attention spans and don't take their hits. A bit like having a pet at LRP in fact, which is just as bad. Perhaps my suggestion not to bring dogs to LRP until they can "Play Dead" on vocal command should apply to children also?
