GUNMAN Proudly presents…
COLD WAR
August bank Holiday Milsim flavoured weekend. Sat 25 and Sun 26 August 2007 Only £45 for the weekend or £25 for the day 100 player limit per day
The setting is 1982, location: the border of Communist East Germany and Poland, British and American troops have been set to a war torn area on the border to help Polish Republic Guards repel a sizable force of East German and Russian troops for helping the Polish Communist Republic movement from staging a military coo after there defeat in 1981. The history of Poland from 1945 to 1982 spans the period of Soviet Communist dominance over the People's Republic of Poland following World War II. These years, while featuring many improvements in the standards of living in Poland, were marred by social unrest and economic depression. Near the end of World War II, German forces were driven from Poland by the advancing Soviet Red Army, and the Yalta Conference sanctioned the formation of a provisional pro-Communist coalition government which ultimately ignored the Polish government-in-exile; this has been described as a betrayal of Poland by the Allied Powers in order to appease Soviet leader Josef Stalin.[1] The new communist government in Warsaw increased its political power and over the next two years the Communist Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR) under Bolesław Bierut gained control of the People's Republic of Poland, which would become part of the postwar Soviet sphere of influence in Eastern Europe. A liberalizing "thaw" in Eastern Europe following Stalin's death in 1953 caused a more liberal faction of the Polish Communists of Władysław Gomułka to gain power. By the mid-1960s, Poland was experiencing increasing economic, as well as political, difficulties. In December 1970, a price hike led to a wave of strikes. The government introduced a new economic program based on large-scale borrowing from the West, which resulted in an immediate rise in living standards and expectations, but the program faltered because of the 1973 oil crisis. In the late 1970s the government of Edward Gierek was finally forced to raise prices, and this led to another wave of public protests. This vicious cycle was finally interrupted by the 1978 election of Karol Wojtyla as Pope John Paul II, strengthening the opposition to Communism in Poland. In early August 1980, the wave of strikes led to the founding of the independent trade union "Solidarity" (Polish Solidarność) by electrician Lech Wałęsa. The growing strength of the opposition led the government of Wojciech Jaruzelski to declare martial law in December 1981. However, with the reforms of Mikhail Gorbachev in the Soviet Union, increasing pressure from the West, and continuing unrest, the Communists were forced to negotiate with their opponents.
The basic rules
All Soldiers start with 2 bandages / hits! Any friendly player can heal the first and second hit by tying one of the injured players bandages to their arm. On the third hit the soldier is a KIA. If the soldier has more than 2 hits due to being a veteran, they can take more wounds (carry more bandages for themselves) and can be healed more times before KIA When out of hits the wounded player must return to their CP and go to the medical tent for 10 minutes be registered as KIA (Killed In Action) and return as a new two hit grunt. Welcome to the FRONT LINE soldier.
When shot the soldier makes the load call of ‘HIT’ and must fall to the ground calling for help. A shot player shouldn’t be targeted and cannot return fire until healed!! All wounded players have five minutes for a fellow soldier to get to them before they bleed to death and must take a KIA (Killed In Action) Any soldier can return to their CP and be fully restored to full hits by visiting the Medical Tent (all bandages taken off and returned to the soldier) return to combat fresh and ready. This takes 5 minutes!
For each Day a soldier survives, he gains an extra hit (bandage that can be taken before a medivac) hence they become more experienced (veteran) up to a total of 5!
Helmet = Helmet hits do NOT count if wearing a metal helmet. However grenades and artillery must still be taken as a wound. Moving wounded. One man with two hands or two men with one hand each can drag a wounded soldier to safety! (Medics have their own rule) Mod kits These mod kits are here if you wish to have a bit more depth to your role at IRON EAGLE however, you don’t have to use them! You can change class as the weekend unfolds by returning to you CP and registering as a different kit. Unless specified all players will be considered to be the basic ‘Soldier’ Kit.
1. Lieutenant 1 golden come back per mission (Restore a fallen soldier to full health) 1 Radio to HQ Begins with 600rds Can use grenades
2. Soldier Begins with 600rds Can use grenades
3. Sniper Can use a single shot bolt-action rifle up to 500fps with a .2 bb Begins with 50rds (must crono with .2bb) Can use grenades
4. Medic Call sanctuary. The medic has got to a wounded soldier and places one hand on their shoulder, when this is done the medic waves a flag of truce and calls ‘Sanctuary’, neither the medic nor the wounded soldier being rescued can be targeted until the medic begins to heel the wound (put a bandage on). Medics cannot open fire until the bandage is on and can use one hand to move them to safety. Begins with 600rds Can use grenades
5. Support Can use a support weapon firing at 350 fps Begins with 2000rds Weapon must be set up before firing (not from the hip or shoulder)
6. Engineer Is the only mod that can set charges and defuse bombs! The Engineer can use a paintball Bazooka/Panzer Faust to take out enemy vehicles and can also repair vehicles in the field. This takes 5 Min per hit taken on the vehical and the vehicle must be fully repaired to become active again. Vehicles can also be repaired at an HQ. Begins with 600rds Can use any pyro!
Vehicles at GUNMAN
Only a person that has held a full drivers license for 5 years may drive Vehicles in the game. All vehicles will be marshalled. All 4-wheeled+ vehicles are considered armoured and will be awarded a certain amount of hits. Only strikes on the wheels or marked targets on the vehicles will count as a hit. The amount of damage done will be represented by the colour of paint used. So there is no confusion we will be using magnetic AXIS and ALLIED flags slapped on the side of the vehicles to show who has control of the vehicle at the time. Example: Blue = 1 hit, Yellow = 2 hits and so on (colours may very depending on availability).
Capturing wounded The enemy can capture any player left behind or not reachable by their own side. To do this all the enemy needs to do is medic the wounded player, they will then be considered a POW (Prisoner of war). POW’s must make their way back to there own HQ (out of game) and register MIA (Missing in action) they will then be added to the POW list.

At times of crises, like your ammo dump has been destroyed during an enemy mission, you may be on Half supplies until a new source of ammo if found.
