I'm looking for a game that uses airsoft for combat resolution. I don't mind if the genre is SF, horror, cyberpunk or whatever. I already know about NEXUS but are there any others out there?

How far are you willing to travel?  There's alleged to be stuff in Southampton, but beyond it being called "Dropzone" I can tell you little.

I'm already in Southampton but I'm willing to travel a bit further afield than that 2 to 3 hours motorbike drive time would be about the limit, I think. I can't do the saddle time like I used to.

Now unless someone has pinched the name, Dropzone is a lasertag event, which was at Harmer Green in Hertfordshire last month. I was on the committee helping to run the weekend. Does anyone else have any information about an airsoft LRP called Dropzone?

*shrugs* I said I couldn't tell much about it.

http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=map/Map3.htm#ambush Says that they have a place in Southampton which may be called Combat South.

Also http://www.groundzeroairsoft.co.uk/wherearewe.php

Sorry about my confusion:

Sets me right.  They use guns and say they larp, I'll have to wait and see.

I run an lrp/airsoft system called Portal, it's effectively stargate style game but not stargate.

Take a look at my site/forum and you will understand.

Nexus Is also a lrp/airsoft which I hear good things about.

Pants... I typed an enthusiastic and lengthy reply and then managed to close my browser by accident, so I'll post the entusiasm but without length.

Survival Horror airsoft / LARP hybrid based on the Resident Evil / Biohazard games, on or near Halloween, Midlands(ish), 24 or 36 hour time-in (dependant on several factors), RealCaps (airsoft slang for "Realistic Capacity Clips" for those interested) and limited ammo, Free/very cheap event (due to lovely site owner and popular response)!

I've run small LARP and MilSim games before but this is going to be on a larger scale (and luckily I have an excellent team to support me). We'd appreciate any offers to help crew this and we're going to make crewing it as "player-ble" as possible. Unfortunately we can't offer pay (but you get to have a laugh with a great bunch of people in my team)

We're doing this for fun and certainly not for any profit. If popular then we'd only up costs to cover better props ad ideas.

Please email me on pete(dot)bridges(at)gmail(dot)com with any offers/interest in said event. Website still under development but at http://www.rpd-stars.com/

Both Combat South and Ground Zero are primarily airsoft skirmish sites that do the occasional themed airsoft days. I've never heard of them running LARP on the sites before but I wouldn't put it past them as part of a private hire.

I'd also recommend Nexus if you're looking for an airsoft based combat system though I would point out that the airsoft is just the mechanic used for the system, it is LARP not themed airsoft.
