I was just watching some TV about the moons of Jupiter.
The moons are solid whereas Jupiter is gaseous etc.

Suppose there was a Jupiter like planet with a number of "M classs" moons which could support life.
Each of those moons could evolve and support life, probably bipedal races of the same height.
Suppose that the centre planet has life "but not as we know it", kinda etherial nebulous beings with various telepathic/telekinetic powers.
Suppose that people on various of the planets "heard voices" and started worshipping "Gods(tm)" who would do Stuff(tm) if one asked nicely.

Now, that could generate an interesting single gameworld scenario on its own.
Without wanting the tech level to get to high, but to have the atmosphere of, but not the incongruous airships and rayguns of, "Tales of the Trigan Empire", I had this wacky idea.

The peoples and their God(s) can conspire to create "jump points" from one moon to another, howevery obviously a straight teleport is a bit random and has all sorts of other problems.
So, they build assorted gliders and launch them from mountains; when they are at a certain speed (a la Back to the Future?) then they can be "invoked", a jump gate forms and they glide out of a flash of light on another moon.
(hopefully they can get back with the aid of a cliff at the other place)

Why go to other moons?
Cos the "gods" are at war on their planet, but in no position to actually fight, being nebulous.
So, they will be "pursuading" the moon peoples to go to other moons and attack the people their, each moon belonging to one (or more) "teams" of beings on the planet.

Could work.  Is there any mechanism for the gods to communicate with the mortals, other than direct ref intervention?

Also, does the method of transport have to be quite so difficult to physrep?

I was thinking basically that when people "cast spells" it was "the Gods" who picked up they request "telepathically" and enacted the spell "telekinetically". Etc.

No.
It was just an ideal that struck me. I wasn't seeing it as thing muchly to do IC, kinda "you are camped here and your glider is stored over that hill" ??
Difficult does stop "moon hopping".
Parties/groups would be either an "away team" or a "colony".

Or people native to that moon who were investigating Goings On.
