I'm after a knee length scale hauberk in either bronze or dark iron finish. The finish is negotiable though. I'm willing to part with a lot of cash for this but I've been totally unable to locate anyone to supply such an item.

There is no rush on this request but anyone who either can supply this or tell me who can would earn at least my eternal gratitude and possibly a tonne of cash too.

For the scales:

http://www.theringlord.com (in Canada)
or for different sorts for another style of construction,
http://www.armchair-armoury.co.uk/aimee.htm

Both of those sites tell you how to make scales into armour.

For someone to assemble the hauberk if you don't want to do it, The Ring Lord might be willing, or you could try someone who normally makes chain armour, e.g.

Thank for that. The Ring lord is news to me. I'll be checking them out.

It's not that I don't want to make my own, rather lack of time and skill make it unfeasably difficult so if anyone knows a manufacturer that would be brilliant.

Try these guys:

Though personally, if I had the cash, I'd pick up a suit of their mail-and-plates, because I think that style of Turkish armour looks the very dog's bollocks:

Hmmm... I am quite tempted by a nice suit of copper.  Have you ordered from them?

No, I haven't, but in general the Czech armourers have an excellent rep in the re-enactment community. I'm fairly sure that particular site has been recommended to me, though I admit that this time I found it by a web search. Czech re-enactors hit each other VERY hard, so the armour from that country is generally robust & well-made.

I have ordered things from them in the past. I found their service excellent and the stuff of good quality.

PD Olrich Von Skorzezny.  Havocstan

Fire Support - because the Marquis of Queensbury never had to go door to door in dispersed tactical formation, with multiple engagement zones and the threat of recurring lateral ambushes.

Cheers.  I'm always a bit iffy about ordering on-line because you never know exactly what you're going to get.  Now, I'm just trying to remember the names of those GW High Elves that had big metal hauberks and trying to convince myself that a copper suit, whilst undoubtedly very cool looking, wouldn't be a good idea.

Maybe badmoonrising can add more info about eventual costs, but ISTR the re-enactors who bought from them ended up paying considerably more than list price once freight from Czechoslovakia, VAT, and import duty had been added on. It's said that one couple added it all up and decided it was cheaper to fly out, have a bit of a holiday, and return wearing their new suits of full plate armour on the plane (since you're not charged any extra for what you wear, but you are for the weight of baggage in the hold).
