Thanks for the reply Ian. Obviously, as a non player, you've no need at all to explain anything to me but as I'd heard such good reports of HT, it has such a high reputation, it seemed out of place. I know it's just the sort of thing that would utterly break my immersion in the game.

Really? Blimey, you must go to a very high standard of events if you manage to avoid all obviously 21st century objects, even as background scenery! I think we're doing pretty well if we just cover up most of the modern stuff. There's so much modern stuff out there though -- wire fences, buildings, telegraph poles, tarmacced roads, etc. -- that I just tend to blank it out, along with stuff like modern walking boots or para boots on the players, latex swords rather than real ones, etc. Usually if I'm being charged by a bunch of guys in armour, I'll be concentrating on them rather than worrying about whether the background scenery is 100% authentic.

I have to confess it's not really a problem for me in the games I play, I only do cyberpunk & modern sci fi, not historical. I suppose it's a question of degree really. I don't think telegraph poles or modern footwear would intrude for me but playing in the middle of parked cars probably would. It was really kicked of by your remark about editing them out of the photos but as I say, I've no relevant experience 'cos I don't play your system, so I'll shut up now. Thanks for your time, all the best for your game.

| Gah! No pictures of me looking mighty in my armour! Oh well, I'll just have to retrieve it from storage, polish it up and somehow hike along to next year's HT with it! However, Sally does look quite magnificent in the lamellar torso armour.
