| ....what would you have put into a modern horror game? There's a few around in terms of table-top RPG's (Nightlife, Unknown Armies etc), and there has been more than MET in regard to the LRP side, though not a great deal. There was a series that came out in the US that never got finished. I remember the Angels / Demons one being called Shades of Divinity and being really rather good. There was a LRP called Pretenders than ran in Manc a while back (don't know if its still going) which seemed pretty similar to Nightlife, and proved that there is life outside what WW have told is modern horror. So, what would you like to see in a Modern Day Horror LRP where the "supernaturals" are the protagonists?

| It's more for reference than anything as it doesn't really feature your average supernatural beings but have you seen anything of Unknown Armies? Wonderful world and wonderful magic, I would love to see something along the lines of Kult (the original not the watered down revamps).

| Kessboy/Martin ran a successful modern day horror. He included a lot of suspense and tension building elements. On the first game no-one died but there were definitely some terrifying moments. I think people realised how 'immersed' everyone was when someone picked up a real kitchen knife as a weapon (albeit for a few seconds, realised what they'd stupidly just done and then put it down again). That was fairly commonplace bad guys, ghosts, zombies (one of which was stark bollock naked....thanks for that Dave), necronomicons etc. Most of the emphasis was on suspense I felt....very successfully done. | BPRD - Abe Sapien, Hellboy, Lobster Johnson et al. Proves you can play the 'supernaturals' without them degenerating in to vampires in trenchcoats. And have a laugh. And things with big tentacles.
Is there any tea on this spaceship?

| Yeah. Was looking at Nightlife over the weekend and also just started reading "The Daywatch" (sequel to "Nightwatch") which seems like quite a cool setting for a game. Dark and gritty (with some humour) and a thumping music score. Emo's will be escorted out the back door by two werewolf bouncers Have some cool gadgets and magic, some more unusual races which are based more on actual mythology rather than Hollywood or White Wolf. I also like the possibility of having the two sides both being players and working against each other.

Trez (6/5/2007) Yeah. Was looking at Nightlife over the weekend and also just started reading "The Daywatch" (sequel to "Nightwatch") which seems like quite a cool setting for a game. Scuse ignorance, but is that related to the Russian film? I really should get round to reading that at some point. I also like the possibility of having the two sides both being players and working against each other. Been done before methinks.
There is only overconfidence and terror.
